I think it's great that she wants to be a nurse, but you can't put a needle in someone's arm to draw blood or change a catheter when you can't stay still. she needs to be a little bit more practical with her goals. You can't be professional while telling somebody their wife's bald when she's dying of cancer.

This is beyond inspiring. Tourette syndrome is a condition that can totally dominate your life. I applaud her genius for flipping the tables and embracing who she is and not allowing it to hinder her life. I worked for an in-home nursing office that provided the proper care for high-functioning patients. One of the guys I took care of had Tourettes, and without a doubt, I bonded with him almost instantly. He made me smile no matter what kind of mood or day I'd been having. I never once mocked or made light of him. I always laughed WITH him.

I have tourette's syndrome. I have it worse than alot of people.alot of people have a twitch or a noise, but i,as well as lots of other people who have this condition, get it pretty bad. Lately i have been smacking myself on the head like, hard, to the point i start crying it hurts so bad, and i get bruises,i have to leave class, etc. i have been hospitalized for my tourettes, cause i was spasming and was so hot and tired yet couldn't stop. It was like torture. Not even kidding. Some things that cause tics for me is stress, the thought of tics, and certain medications, specifically ADHD medication. And we have to live with this for the rest of our lives.

My husband has tourettes. It is mostly noises, clearing his throat, coughing repeatedly, tons of different things, usually comes from things he does occasionally and it will turn into a tic. Its a very difficult thing for people who have it to deal with, and more compassion and understanding is needed. I hate that my husband has to go through what he does

I used to be like this, but I made myself stop doing it. To this day I can’t watch someone do this or I will start doing the same. I could only watch the video for a couple of seconds, because I can feel it coming back. You can make yourself stop doing this.
