Imagine being a liberal from california, moving to a red state that has a low cost of living, just to have a life goal to flip that State to become blue because "liberalism is better" 💩
ОтветитьMove to North Myrtle and above -or Surfside and below. NOT Myrtle. Do NOT move to Myrtle city limits.
Ответитьwhere do Texans move to in SC?
ОтветитьNice job but I think you way overemphasized the Hurricane threat. The last major Hurricane was Hugo in 1989 which did enormous damage. Most of what we have had since then are near misses. The storms usually track up the Gulf stream about a hundred miles offshore. Some of the minor storms that actually hit Charleston area where I live include Matthew in 2015 I think. We didn't even lose power in Mt Pleasant. I'm on James Island now and I lost power during Dorian for about a day. If you are concerned with flooding just don't buy in a flood zone. Simple enough. Flood zones are distinguished by risk, obviously. In Mt Pleasant I was in a flood zone but the house had never flooded even in Hugo. However, downtown Charleston got many feet of water from Hugo. Many downtown restaurants kept a water mark on the interior walls for years after. Some probably still do. In summary, I think the media and government have turned hurricanes into the boogeyman which is far less of a factor than most realize. Most people here don't evacuate unless a large hurricane is imminent. Something like a Cat 4.
ОтветитьHow about Florence sc ?
ОтветитьI grew up in Pickens and live in Anderson now. One benefit of living here in the Upstate: no alligators! (It's too cold for them.) Great video!
ОтветитьA recently released report by US News and World Report listed Myrtle Beach as the fastest growing area in the US. The Spartanburg and Greenville metro areas were listed in the top 25 fastest growing.
ОтветитьJesus saith unto him , I am the way , the truth and the life : no man cometh unto the Father , but by me .
Sorry if I have given you trouble .
I married to a SC man and owned a house in a very affluent neighborhood in Columbia. My family was military so I've lived in several states and even a few countries. Columbia has a lot of things to do but be mindful you aren't one of them. It's a good ole boy state and law enforcement will always protect their own.
ОтветитьGreat video, I wish you had one of these for every state! Thanks
ОтветитьDon't be insulted. They didn't mention my house either. Lol
ОтветитьThere's a lot of history there. Don't just look at it. Read the history of it. It's AWSOME !!
Ответить👍☀️🙏
ОтветитьIt is beautiful I live here now…but the Health System stinks…
ОтветитьGreat information ..
ОтветитьI am hoping to retire in about 2 years. Where would you recommend retiring to that has a retirement community with condos or townhouses about 30 minutes or so from the beach. No flooding or threats of a hurricane evacuation?
ОтветитьYou can't say "antebellum" any longer because it's "offensive" to some people!!
ОтветитьI was raised in the Carolina’s in the 60s. It was so boring back then I couldn’t wait to leave. Now I’m old and want to go back. Lol. Timing is everything
ОтветитьGreat video. But you did leave out Charleston Southern University, which is an excellent college.
ОтветитьMy wife and I built a house in Horry County in 2021. We are about 25 miles from North Myrtle Beach. 4 bedroom/2 bath on a half acre property for around $200,000. We still live and work in North Jersey. We wouldn’t even be able to buy a 35x50 lot in Jersey for that price! 2026 we will officially be South Carolinians.
Ответить‘Born and raised in Greenville. Spent summers on pawleys😮island,
ОтветитьHave a place in Murrells Inlet 15 miles south of Myrtle. Seafood capital of the state.
ОтветитьHome of Lindsay Graham, no thanks.
ОтветитьNot for nothing, the most hurtful thing to encounter is don't come here, we're full. Hurricane Ian hit me head on. I'm not rebuilding on the island. I hear the don't come here a lot. It could happen to you. Be nice.
ОтветитьSpartanburg resident here.. I’ll be honest, this place sucks. NC is probably all-around better. Education, income, mountains, beaches, etc. my wife & I have a hard time imagining settling here for the rest of our lives. Greenville , SC is nice but it’s severely crowded for what it is. Good luck on I-85 & Woodruff road 😬
ОтветитьBest thing to do is whatevere area you think you might like find a AirBmB or hotel and stay in that area a couple weeks to get a feel for it. Then you will know if ok. When I first came south in 1996 I thought about Spartanburg but now hate that area. Ended up in Fayetteville NC where I am still close to. High property taxes in SC keep me where I am,
ОтветитьForgot to mention the crazy amount of traffic around Charleston. I love the area and have stayed in Moncks Corner and Johns Island. Altlthough I am more familiar with the Pee Dee region.
ОтветитьWould like to see a video about Little river, SC
ОтветитьI just visited South Carolina. It's a great place for sure. You should definitely learn from other states and legalize Marijuana. It's been very beneficial here in Colorado. Time to wake up South Carolina Govt and people!!
ОтветитьLast time i was in Charleston visiting my daughter who lives there..was an episode that was on the local news...apparently a giant mosquito had landed at the airport there an they went on the tarmac an was trying to fill it up with jet fuel before they realized what it actually was...it was that large an showed up on radar as bein a small jet....this is a true story....
ОтветитьDon’t forget about the worst drivers on the east coast. Florida you should be proud, we are worse than you!!!!
ОтветитьShould’ve move out here years ago when it was still affordable! I feel like everyone from up north followed me down here. Wish I can go to another State..
ОтветитьAlligators all over lower South Carolina, everywhere. I HATE alligators. 1.5 years ago my husband and I moved 30 minutes south of Greenville. We love it. Friendly people. Conservative mind set overall. Which is the main reason we moved frim LIBERAL Washington state. Glad to know not everyone in our country has lost their mind. Thankful for places like South Carolina!!
ОтветитьCharleston, very beautiful. But flooding is definitely an issue. Maybe you should mention that and watch your flood zones when purchasing a house.
ОтветитьQuite an adjustment from Montana to South Carolina I'm sure. If given the opportunity to relocate, I'd prefer the Beaufort area. Great video !!
ОтветитьToo crowded. Charleston, Dorchester & Berkeley counties need to work on a mass public transit system to help eliminate traffic. It's horrible and no space to build road's. They need buses running to each county with stop's and parking area's. The same with a train.
ОтветитьCharleston does have good restaurants.
ОтветитьMy daughter lives close to Charleston. I would prefer upstate. Like the mountains.
ОтветитьRock Hill is not as charming as he describes it.
ОтветитьJust moved to Lexington - love it!
ОтветитьIs the ocean actually brown there or is it just looking that way on my iPad?
ОтветитьFort Mill or Rock Hill
ОтветитьCrime in Myrtle Beach alone should take it off this list. I am not a fan of Charleston but to each his own...
ОтветитьHi Mark, Looking to move to a beach town in SC. Single family home 3 bd 2 bh. $275-325k max. No DR Horton or Lennar, or any other corporate developers. North Myrtle beach or below Myrtle Beach, no grand strand. Not for me.
ОтветитьSorry, winters suck here
ОтветитьWe love the SC Coast!
ОтветитьI’m not sure if I’m insulted or relieved you didn’t mention Spartanburg, or any of the lakes in our area. We’re currently experiencing a building boom due to BMW. What was once farmland is now housing tracts. Nothing supports the influx of people, not the roads, schools, water, or even trash disposal.
ОтветитьEdgar training command South Carolina home
ОтветитьDo you have crocodiles, poisonous spiders and dangerous wild life there as well? I heard Malaria was once a big thing in the lowlands? kind regards from Europe
ОтветитьI was born at the Charleston Navy Base hospital and lived all around the world. My fathers last duty station was Charleston. My parents retired to Summerville. It’s nice but the summer is a killer.
Ответить
