I really felt cringe at the edge, but I don't understand why. this isn't me shitting on edge, this is me kind of wondering "_why_ do we actually not like edge as much?" especially when it can very well represent the emotional turmoil we are going through? maybe because other people said edge is cringe. and why do we find some edge cringe and others actually cool? (dark souls, warhammer 40k etc.)

Even though some of us look back on it and cringe, I look back on it as an interesting time to have been a bit younger while on the internet. I always remember making up animation memes in my head and like ideas for them since I never had my own computer or animation program and I didn't have any social media to put it on. I still do miss this era at times and I'm glad that this community is still around. Even if it isn't as popular as it was before :')

Pusher was my absolute favorite of all time and to this day I still have an idea for it in mind and I’m planning to animate it soon

I feel like the good time of animation memes was around 2014-2017 because they were a form of self expression. Nowadays, people don't have self inserts that often, atleast not in animation memes. This is mostly caused by "cringe culture" and people not letting kids be kids. I say, if it isn't hurting anyone, why should they be ashamed of creating something they love?

I REMEMBER AS KID WATCHING CHANNEL WITH ANIMATION MEMES OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIND IT 😭 i only remember 2 of the characters there. 2 girls 1 with brown hair and ponytail, blue sweater (?) And the other black hair, red eyes and red dress. She also had scaft. They both had cross necklaces and some black thing falling from their eyes. The channel had such amazing videos, but I can't find it again 😭

I remember the community, it was "edgy" and "dark" and half of the time the OCs were corrupted but i miss it so much.

I miss the old animation meme community. When everything was edgy and cringy but nobody cared. Now if you make an edgy character, I've gotten attacked by how edgy they are! I miss when it was just wholesome/edgy animation memes. Now it's just the millions of animation memes about people who did wrong. Example, the Foxi Boxi incident. You know what I'm talking about.
