Do Highland cows make good pets

Love from France. I don't know if Highland cows make good pets, put they do make pretty horns ! There are some, here in Massif Central. Always a pleasure to see them, they are so beautiful !

Wait, that's a COW? In my neck of the woods they all have short hair and are dumber than rocks. Their favorite activity is standing in the middle of the road at night. But this cow actually looks really cool

One one of my tours of the Scotland the tour bus stopped by a field of Highland Cows. Some of us went up to the fence to get a closer look at these beautiful creatures. One of them came right up to the fence and stuck his head over. I'd been nibbling on an apple and the tour guide said that it would eat the apple if I offered it. Not only did the cow finish my apple, it politely tongue washed my hand and THEN my face.

I love how Bison like the Highland looks. Also appreciated your comments on bottle babies.

My cousin raises these in Pennsylvania. One day I went to visit him. I called him on the phone he said he was down at the birthing field. I got to video one being born. What a treat. I've been out to help him feed them a couple times and it was a fun experience. They are a beautiful animal.

Had the same issue growing up.. had a herford bull named curley we "bottle raised"... He was raised around 6 kids also.. could jump on his back.. ect.. he was the absolute sweetest bull you could imagine.. until he grew to be 1400 pnds... Then he would run up and try to "hug" you...... 😒

Probably not all that surprising that they're so docile given their size. When you're that big and have those massive horns, you don't have to do a lot of convincing to keep the predators at bay.
