Boy I would love an old truck like that. I love my new truck, 2021 F-150 XLT with every option you can think of on it, but it misses that old feel that my 2013 chevy and 1994 GMC had.

I’ve got a 1994 Chevy Cheyenne 2 Wheel Dr., 8 foot long bed standard cab V6 automatic pick up truck. 234,000 miles and it starts right up and there’s no problem. Over the years I’ve maintained this truck very well and I expect to get close to 400,000 miles on it maybe more they don’t make trucks like these anymore. This will last forever if you take care of it.

Then chevy started messing with cylinder deactivation. The 54v8 would be a good motor, I think. No cylinder deactivation. Why would anyone want a v8 that runs on 4 cylinders. The 47 trucks are tough to find.

The more reliable a vehicle is the longer it lasts. That translates into less vehicle sales. If there is one thing an auto manufacturer can’t stand is low auto sales. The suits don’t get their millions. The shareholders don’t get their cut.

Unfortunately now in 2023 all car makers have gone way down hill. And who would've ever thought that Toyota would jump on the same bandwagon.
It's amazing what greed can do.

I owned a 1999 Chevy C-3500 crew cab running a 5.7 V-8, single rear wheels and a 4L80E transmission, I was the second owner, bought it from the dealership with only 357 miles, the original owner was a company that went bankrupt shortly after the purchase. The thing broke down sitting in my driveway the next day after I bought it, ground wire for the fuel pump circuit not tightened on the stud, later the ignition switch failed, twice, it's a two-piece assembly. About every 60,000 miles the intake manifold gaskets would fail leaking coolant into the oil pan, this happened three times. The AC compressor was the old three section unit, it failed and could not be rebuilt along with the belt tension pulley and idler pulley. The throttle body has to be cleaned on a regular basis due to carbon build up on the butterfly plate. The evaporative canister for the fuel system failed and had to be replaced. The windshield leaked when it rained but not in the car wash, that was an assembly defect, sealant not applied properly. A plastic bushing in the transmission tail shaft failed causing it to leak and the rear axle seals failed at the same time covering the rear brakes with oil. Last but not least, the damn paint came off of it in sheets, this is a problem with every white GM vehicle made for a very long time, GM refuses to address the problem.
