I get the feeling Mad Dog's rhyme book won't help Loc very much. Rhymes are one thing but cadence and timing are felactors too. That and him trying way too hard with his image will likely see him fail sooner or later, unless he learns along the way. The book only has so many lyrics in it, so eventually he'd have to write new.material.

I think the most likely reason is that OG Loc can't prove it even if he wanted to, since there is no recording of their conversation and CJ steal the rhythm book and kill Mad Dog manager and the all eye witness of that situation, plus Mad Dog probably won't believe whatever Loc said because Loc ruin Mad Dog career and then there also the off chance that Loc think that Mad Dog already know despite Mad Dog doesn't due to paranoid thinking.

What is strange to me is that Dogg doesn't question CJ when he calls Loc by his real name, Jeffrey. It'd be suspicious to me how does my new guardian angel know the real name of a thief, and say that he stabbed the family in the back.

Loc never betrayed CJ, it's actually in reverse. CJ betrayed Loc, he helped him with anything he could early on, then when Dogg came into picture, they went after Loc to crash his carreer. I don't think Loc was in Smoke's crack ring, he's too much of a bitch to deal with things like this, and also to say no to Smoke. He might not even realize why does Smoke "help" him out being his manager, he is stupid as a cabbage after all.

I feel like Jeffrey needed to have less of an arc to contend with than Ryder. While we're dealing with his stupidity and eventual betrayal, there could have been a deeper character built for Ryder- someone who IS a gangsta, stuck in the middle between a stubborn thug leader, and a shifty traitor. If only...
