Been thinking of purchasing this game. Never played any others of the series.
How is the story and how is the combat? Like is it right into the action or turn based?

I've found that having a healer or dedicated support is relatively useless, at least in my current playthrough. I've got supportive items and spells (Fog Cloud, False Life, Sleep, Feign Death, etc) spread across all my party members but I usually just take advantage of environment and items over health pools because I know if my enemies outnumber me, my healing actions might be worthless.

This game could’ve been so much better, but they had to make things too complicated for no reason! Not user friendly.

Human Fighter only, Human Fighter always. From BG1 to BG3 and every other d&d crpg in between.

I've tried the game, its nice! I've spent more than 2 hours on my character creation lol! But I didnt like that I have to control 4 characters at once, is there any game that has similar class system but it can be played by only 1 character? Similar class system like depends on the choices you make you can go good/evil like for the Cleric ..?

It seems like if you want to be a tank you only have one option that would be the paladin

I don’t even own the game yet because I have an xbox…but here I am watching character creation guides in preparation LOL. I’m studying in preparation for spending several hours creating my character when I do buy the game.

Talking to animals is extremely tempting

if this game was price at $200 , it would still be worth it . SOO MUCH CONTENT !!!

Bard all the way. Talking my way out of situations and entertaining folk alike of all races. Also don’t mind twisting some arms to achieve financial security ;)

Playing as a Druid sounds very intriguing!

I could min max… or I could be a Bardbarian that plays Amon Amarth on his lute, and follows up failed persuasion attempts by screaming at people

So no artificer?

Bard is the most fun class by far!

what would you reccomend for a first time player?

guys a i have a doubt, wich is the difference between the character you create and a companion? i mean yoour maiin charactwr have some advantage comparing of the same class but of a companion?

This game looks so good on high settings. I have to play with everyone on low or else my computer would explode.

I always choose some type of magic class when I play these type of games. I wish they had a necromancer class though. 🥺

I think this is the only game where I had a difficult time choosing a class! The devs really did put in much effort into everything

until they give me bladesinger as a wizard subclass, or hexblade as a warlock, none of them are right for me. And autognome isn't even one of the races. :(

I wanted to playthrough as someone who can talk to animals and also do charisma conversations (since I enjoy the story/unique dialogue stuff a lot).

I chose to be a noble Wood Gnome (so could talk to animals) cleric (with the animal God). I've put 12.5 hours in, but only just realised that the talk to animals skill is a spell you have to cast on yourself, so I thought all the "conversations" with animals were just interpreting them chittering or squawking and was kind of disappointed until I realised you had to cast a spell to do it first 🙃🙃

May start afresh with a druid and then do the animal talking properly from the get-go 😅

i knoW I'm gonna spend more time in the character creation than I will in the game- I'll sit on character creation for hours, start the game, change my mind, make a new character, start again, etc

I can't wait for the ps5 release! So excited to play this

The more I play and try to watch videos, the more I think I might not be smart enough to play lol. It's really fun though. I choose a half elf, Paladin Oathbreaker trying a dark Knight thing so I guess we'll see.
