The Wall Street Journal has a conservative editorial board, but it hasn’t affected WSJ’s investigative reporting and reporters.

Meanwhile, the wage gap remains pernicious. Too many honest and dedicated workers are being fired; people with disabilities and senior-citizens lose benefits; older workers, racial minorities and women get overlooked for employment opportunities; and children's and young adults' education continues to deteriorate.

It has always been the purview of the owner of a newspaper to control the narrative and the main reason twitter was purchased by another billionaire, well soon to be the world’s first trillionaire. Opinion pieces are essentially the free speech of a journalist and after all free speech is only free if it is not paid for. I object to capitalist billionaire who literally own capitol hill, dictating what the public can and can’t read. Trumps favourite method of media control is through law suits and threats of de-registration. The mega rich already own and control your thoughts with their AI, they raise prices on whatever you buy just because they can. And that’s OK because that’s what capitalism is all about.

The freedom of the press needs to be upheld but when capitalism owns the press, journalism suffers, what we haven’t seen for a long time is good journalism and that’s just the way they like it. We don’t want the kind of journalism seen in China or Russia where the propaganda machine controls the narrative either but an independent press would be nice.

The idea that world democracies are defended by the US is somewhat of a joke if you can’t defend democracy in your own country.
