No Man's Sky - 1.55 melee boost jump stealth nerf

it doesnt work at all anymore
i have a rifle btw
when i do the melee boost from walking speed i get sprinting speed
when i do it from sprinting speed i get no speed gain at all
yeah, maybe im overreacting but it has always been my absolute favourite feature, just hovering over the surface of some planets at incredible speed and now i feel like a fat snail with a clunky ass melee animation
its incredibly disappointing and i think i will not play the game further unless they fix this because... well.. its simply not fun for me anymore :c

Interesting. I couldn't do the melee boost until the 1.55 patch.
I could do it on the original NMS (two years ago), but I couldn't since NEXT came out.
So for me, this is an improvement.
Note: I'm using a riffle.

It looks like a bug more than a nerf since you get the original boost using pistol multitools. Just seem the rifle tools have been limited

So based on what I've discovered in trying this out with different guns. If you get a two handed weapon, normally rifles, but not all rifles, you do a shorter melee attack so your boost jump is significantly nerfed compared to normal.

I don't see why they would nerf this suddenly after it being part of the game fro 2 years

They litterally took this away for no fucking reason. Now the jetpack is trash again, greattttttt

I'm sad they nerfed it. Used to be so much fun to explore planets and such using the melee boost jump.
