Avatar 2, 3, 4 or 5 will NEVER replace the first one
ОтветитьI love that the Navi are definitely all dead. There is some CRAZY dystopian world building happening here, they somehow completely unintentionally made Pandora the most interesting thing Disney's ever put out. In the most distasteful and unself‐aware way possible but, interesting none the less, i suppose?
ОтветитьI love your videos so much Jenny!!! Especially the longer ones about evermore, the brony con, the avatar theme park, the roast of DEH movie, I just love them so much!!! Your analysis are so in depth it's very relaxing and like I'm learning all the gossip about something from an honest and unbiased source. Please please please make more !! Lots of love from a fangirl anxiously awaiting your next deep dive❤❤❤❤❤
Ответитьjust watched this for the billionth time and only just now caught the "thirty dollar plastic wands"
Ответитьi feel like they unintentionally did an incredible job of capturing the spirit of the film. like it's an objectively amazing visual spectacle and you can tell a lot of care and thought went into creating this world and its natural landscape, but it makes very little impact beyond how cool it looks, and the entire time the framing of what you're seeing and who is presenting it to you feels a bit skewed and wrong.
ОтветитьUrologist: the prognosis is serious; you have polyps on your bladder.
Me: oh no! a zow!
Disney got saved by Galaxy's Edge and to an extent Avengers Campus.
ОтветитьRevisiting this after the news that Dinoland USA is on death row 🥲
ОтветитьI was watching the banchee ride part, and thought "Is that Dan? Dan of FoldingIdeas?" only to check the description to see Dan linked there !!!!
ОтветитьSome people watch The Office on repeat for comfort. Thats basically me with Jenny's videos.
ОтветитьTheme parks are like a religion
ОтветитьSo every other park gets the capatalism okay but this one? I mean, it's fun, your already there as a consumer... Just enjoy yourself. I understand the feeling of imperialism going there is, but your on native land in Florida regardless of where you go, and isn't it better than looking at caged animals? This take is very one sided.
ОтветитьI always wondered why everyone forgot to compare avatar to Fern Gully lol
Ответить“They could build either the concrete lot with the chintzy roadside carnival or the epic world of medival fantasy beasts” is the funniest thing I’ve ever heard.
Ответитьso the park took over na'vi land, got rid of all of them, and then sold their relics to foreigners? i wonder what that reminds me of
ОтветитьI just feel like we glossed over the Navi translation device having “bladder polyp” as a vocab word a little too fast idk
ОтветитьWell there's the answer, the Navi all suffocated because the big pod somehow spat out enough steam to change the atmosphere on a molecular level
ОтветитьIt’s so wild how the world building makes Avatar a perfect premise for a theme park, but the story makes it a terrible one lmao
Ответить"30 dollar plastic wand" was that a reference to "Escape from Tomorrow" video?
ОтветитьYou know they couldve really brsnd synergized tbe beastly kingdom stuff by going for LotR or something
ОтветитьEvery time I watch this I forget we catch a glimpse of Folding Ideas and I smile so big.
Ответитьunpopular opinion, but i LOVED navi river journey when i went. it was such a nice break in the day to sit and enjoy the beautiful music and scenery. i also really loved the drums! i went with a big school group so had been getting some not so nice looks from people all day, but when the drummers invited my group up to drum with them i finally felt like i was being included and feeling the disney magic!
ОтветитьSomehow it feels like a Meow Wolf experience
ОтветитьThe year is 2023. Avatar 2 came out one year ago. Like Avatar 1, I forgot it immediately
ОтветитьI think its even funnier that avatar 2 came out and it ended up making money but is once again back in the "like sure lets see then movie that took ten years to make" now im very happy to see this series continue
Honestly i just want a pandora nature documentary no story just following the planets animals and plants through their daily lives
It would be interesting if the navi were the doctumentary crew so we get this insider view of the animals and plants
I don't even watch movies, I just like your videos. 😊
ОтветитьWatching Jenny pick up a bag of strangely blue popcorn, look at it and go “ooh that’s expired”, jump cut to her eating it, and jump cut to her throwing it up is pure art. Avatar wishes it could master the cinematic tragedy of this,
ОтветитьNothing could’ve prepared me for “bladder polyps”
ОтветитьAs a big TTRPG nerd, and someone who is big into rollercoasters, it's wild to see how differently i engage with theme parks vs how you do. You'd think i'd be big into the LARP-aspect of theme parks like disney that are less ride-focused and more about the E*X*P*E*R*I*E*N*C*E but I'm never able to suspend my disbelief for these segments. I guess part of my reticence is that I've done service industry and retail jobs for more than half my life, and it's hard for me to engage with an employee's character when I know that all of Disney's cast members are just retail schlubs like me, but forced to jump through extra hoops to maintain the customer service kayfabe and keep the Mouse happy.
I dunno, I know a lot of people who work customer service for disney are huge enthusiasts themselves and just as much of a theater kid as I am, but at least when I go see a kitchy movie I'm watching someone who's fairly compensated for their work, not slaving away in +90F and florida humidity for a sub-living wage. The base human misery innate to wage labor makes it impossible for me to suspend my disbelief.
I saw Dinosaur with my grandma…it was weird. I miss my grandma. She was cool.
ОтветитьJenny, you're so brave for revealing your real ears. Stay strong.
ОтветитьDan Olsen jumpscare
ОтветитьI assume you were there with Dan Olson but I like to pretend he was just randomly there in a random Disney crowd you decided to pump up about riding dragons in avatars
ОтветитьHow uhh…how did Disney run out of money..?
ОтветитьI visited the park on an extra day we had in Florida from going to Harry Potter world when I was five
The banshee puppet thing broke after like a year of barely using it rip now it has no eyes
We're finally going to Disney! I haven't been since well before Avatar got added. My partner was like "Do we have to go to all 4 parks?" and I remembered how much I didn't care about Avatar and went "No, we can skip Animal Kingdom." So thanks for the help with that.
Also, why didn't they just get around the lack of Navi characters by going, "We worked with the Navi to produce an accurate land based on their planet! A few Navi even are here to learn about our culture as part of an exchange program!" (The animatronic.) "We took samples of their plants, food, and animals, and worked to make sure the original planet was conserved. For every plant or animal moved, two more were planted/sponsored on Pandora in their place!" It promotes conservation. It promotes respecting foreign environments. It promotes learning about other cultures in a non-destructive way. Plus it would make the transition to the rest of the park make a lot more sense. You're very clearly in a simulated environment. It looks exactly the same, minus the repurposed military stuff, and it doesn't matter what happens in the next movie, because this is a whole separate Disney thing. The Navi like the Disney exchange program, and it doesn't matter what James Cameron does with the canon human population. It would also explain the "native food" just being a differently-shaped cheeseburger. "This is based on traditional Navi food, but with protein humans can digest and already enjoy!"
I keep thinking about easy it would be to simply have blue human sized people walking around and call them a new species of navii that is human sized
ОтветитьThe woman who know some Na’vi also knows some sign language
Ответить“Dad, there’s a movie?!” ROFL
Ответитьgonna wait for avatar 3 before i see avatar
