Thanks for this, Tim. Local 'cross is a blast, and can use any exposure it can get. Just a great way to have some fun. And great use of the drone shots, too.
ОтветитьGreat Video! I appreciate your inviting presentation style and inclusive non judgmental approach to your take on cycling culture. I know my area has some cyclocross and after seeing this, I think my next search after this post is my scene. Peace and Safe travels.
ОтветитьCX folks are some of the nicest folks in cycling. The CX community welcomes everyone, at any level. We live in western burbs of Chicago and had the Nationals here in 2021 at Cantigny Park. Saw some amazing riders!
ОтветитьCross is my church and you have in 5 minutes made one of the best promotional videos for the sport that I’ve seen, legend.
ОтветитьNice
ОтветитьTotally agree. Glad to hear this perspective on cyclocross. It's a great time whether you're a serious racer or a costumed single speeder. CX has a great ratio of hanging out to racing.
Ответитьwow! you said it all in 5 minuets!! just an absolute party and a good time!
Ответитьcyclocross and the community is great. I started in 2015 at age 50. It keeps me motivated to train, and it's how I get my intensity workouts. I place in the bottom three usually at least one lap down on the top six in my category, but I don't care. It's also good for sharpening bike skills, which is important at my age (now 60). Lastly, the fact that one gets to finish the race no matter how many laps down, is a plus. Thanks for this video.
Ответить1,000% Better. 😜 I'm really sad I missed this event. I raced a national cyclocross event on the same day and while that was fun, I kinda wished I had done this instead. Nothing beats these local races. Hopefully this encourages a few people to try it. I don't think you mentioned, but any bike is welcome. MTBs, gravel, fat bike.... just bring what you have. Cyclocross is the best form of bike racing out there!
ОтветитьDidn’t even know that existed. I don’t have fitness for that. 😂 Glad you guys could enjoy though & interesting to see.
ОтветитьThanks Tim!
ОтветитьMy wife and I started racing CX in the late '90's. We're still having fun and enjoying the whole scene. Great video!
ОтветитьExcellent video and amazing camera work as always👍 I love hanging out at bike events, I enjoy being with people who like bicycles!🚴🚴🚴
ОтветитьWe don't need Dustin!
We have Tim Fitzwater!
Awesome event and as always a great video. Thanks Tim
ОтветитьThat's not cyclocross...the sun is shining and there is no MUD ! 😅
ОтветитьCyclocross freakin' RULES!! We have a weekly series on Tuesdays for 12 weeks starting at the end of August and going till November. We also travel to St. Louis for their Bubba Cross series races which go from September to December. It's so much fun, such a good workout and skill building exercise and overall just a damn good time! Our kids race is off the chain too! Easily 30+ kids every week! I hope your series grows and grows!
ОтветитьFascinating to see bike people from places way out from where i ride in SE WI. I just 3stched a video from a Spain event then this from Ohio. Nice to feel there's a bike community almost everywhere especially when im riding alone.
ОтветитьLooks like fun for everyone involved
ОтветитьWoody and the crew did an AWESOME job. Chapo!
ОтветитьLooks like good times!
ОтветитьSo cool!!!
ОтветитьGreat footage, as usual. Today I saw a photo (and footage) from 1938 of guys riding "ice bikes" on a frozen river in Milwaukee. Probably drunk on beer. Front fork had a freaking skate blade on it. That's a new one. I never mustered up the motivation to try cyclocross. If I'm gonna crash and break my hip, or more likely my neck, it will be in the deep woods, solo, where no one will see me tumble and they can then salvage my mountain bike. My brain just doesn't compute the skinny tire and lycra thing mixed with sand and mud. Oh, but that's so cool in Paris-Roubaix. The drama. Riding sew up 23 C's on cobbles. Ooy. Free Pizza ? Dude, I'm there! Guitar Jams? ditto. But meh this is like Axe Throwing. Disclaimer: I'm sure I will offen someone here, but you're just gonna hafta bite me. I'd get back into ultimate frisbee before I tried this. I was pretty good at that.
ОтветитьThe mid 2000’s through the late 2010’s was peak American Cyclocross.
Then the manufacturers killed a large part of it by investing heavy into gravel. Gravel riding was what we did with our CX bikes preparing for CX season.
I’m glad to see the local CX scenes are rebounding and cross is coming back around. So much fun to be had at the races.
Such a great event!!! Killer camera work as per usual. Appreciate the shout out homie!!! 🍻🍻🍻
ОтветитьBeer hand up? Count me in!!!
ОтветитьI raced Cross for about 6 years, Citizen class in our locale series. Was slow, but never DFL. Learned a ton of bike handling skills. Had to stop because of a health issue. Maybe next year....
ОтветитьBikes are just fun!
ОтветитьThis was a really fun course and great event. Glad to see so many NEOCX events this year, most since pre pandemic.
ОтветитьThanks Tim. I go to a bunch of CX races every year , there is a series not too far from me . They are a blast to watch , but pretty serious as well ! Great drone shots , cool perspective .In some of the European races, they follow the riders for a bit . People are amazing on their bikes !
Ответить“The Mad Batter Bake Shop” donated those donuts !!
ОтветитьWish cyclocross was like that in Wales 🌨️🌨️🌨️ and mud. Great sport
Ответитьbeautiful weather, perfect conditions. some stellar coverage there cameraman.
ОтветитьGreat video - I’ve stayed in cat 4/5 for 8 years. I’ll continue to race every season for as long as I can. I owe a lot to Cx in that it’s how I found the wonderful folks in the north east Ohio bike scene. Thank you for encouraging folks to grow their little corners of the bike world too!
ОтветитьNice of you to show some love for cyclocross!
ОтветитьLove your vids, Tim. You make me want to move to some place like Akron.
Ответитьgreat content! enjoyed the drone work, thanks
ОтветитьAll the bikes all the fun!
ОтветитьI appreciate and support all forms of cycling, but to me cyclocross just seems like a perfectly good ride ruined by obstacles. I'll still watch it, but there's no way I'm riding in one.
ОтветитьStill don’t get the drop bars in gravel or cyclocross. I like drop bars on the road but anything else more treacherous I like the leverage I get from a flat bar or a Tumblweed swept back for mountain bikepacking. But as they say ‘what ever works is good’.
ОтветитьCX is one of my favorite aspects of biking. Lots of fun at the local series here in Massachusetts/Rhode Island
ОтветитьThat does look like a fun time!! Hopefully I can make it out to one in the future. Thanks for sharing that with us. Cheers 🍻
