Hey man. Take a look at the Meross garage door controller. It piggybacks onto your door opener (where the wall switch connects) and is apple HomeKit compatible. If you’re trying to use it with siri while your phone is locked well siri sucks ass. Even if you toggle “allow access when locked” to HomeKit it still won’t work with like a Cardo. I solved this by just disconnecting the door sensor and just say “close the garage door” to both open and close the garage door and it works when I’m pulling up the street and want to ride right into my garage without fumbling for the remote. Hope this very specific garage door information helps you out.

MSP's can be awesome and horrid, literally at the same time, been in IT since the 80's, I've seen it all, I don't wish it on anybody anymore. Have Hoovie get you a newer Mac, unless you don't mind long render times.

I’d be very very very reticent to say “both” out loud for everyone to the world to hear. When you get hired for cto (or almost any management) positions they tend to get pissed when you basically tell them out loud they’ll be getting 50% of your attention.

In regards to the chamberlain rant. Get a Meross HomeKit garage door opener. It works with chamberlain openers. I use one on my chamberlain gate and have the chamberlain HomeKit bridge for my doors.

For the garage door, look at ratgdo. It's ESPhome or MQTT based controller which is compatible with the Security 2.0+ protocol used by the MyQ system.
