Baldur's Gate 3 Wizard Evocation Build Guide

Poison damage powerful? Every other enemy is immune to it lol

I decided to make a Shield Dwarf Wizard so I can have Armor Proficiency, get the Bracers of Defense, and add Shield and Mirror Image. So far with my stats, I'm at a 16 AC and I'm liking how less I get hit as a squishy wizard.

I have no idea how to use flaming sphere. It never does the aoe damage properly, and at the end of the fight it just rolls up on the formation automatically and hurts everyone.

Buy a bag of 1k ball bearings and just fire them off 1 at a time dealing lots of dmg if they don't succeed a dex save

Charisma increase dmg.

As evocation I recommend use "Elemental adept" its just too good

Many level 1 spells are different on my Gale from yours. Mine doesn't have Magic Missile for example.

i dont see feather fall as an option for lvl 2? I'm respecing Gale mid-game, he was lvl 5 before the respec, not sure if that is why?

You know you said wizard, not paladin, right? :P

Gotta say, Evocation is alright but Necromancer lets you absolutely destroy the action economy in a way other Wizard subclasses wish they could. Also Divination Wizards with Portent are probably also a more powerful choice than Evocation Wizards.

I choose to take slow over haste.
Reducing what several attacker can do each turn is a massive increase to survivability and the range the targets you can select is massive.
I usually have a ton of haste potions just sitting in my bags. Haste doesnt let my rogue do multiple sneak attacks a round. Makes me a sad panda.

I spec'd the npc mage in our solo groups this. Not blowing up your own party in tight spaces really opens up the use of aoe.
