This video made me start journaling again last year when it came out
ОтветитьI have journaled on and off since I was young girl. I love seeing this video because I also love Virginia Woolf and her books, I have read her journals several times. Her imagery in her books are pure magic. Love this challenge Christy must try it myself 😍😍😍
Kylie from Perth Western Australia
you may not see this comment, but what journal and fountain pen are you using in this video???? i love both!
ОтветитьI thought that shop looked familiar haha, we have Kikki K here in Australia too! Also, we have similar handwriting, a morphed being of cursive and straight simple lettering, journal on 🖖
ОтветитьDo David Williams next xx
ОтветитьWhat brand of fountain pens do you use???
ОтветитьYou look similar to Dakota Johnson 😮
ОтветитьCan I just ask what lipstick you're wearing in this video? I'm absolutely obsessed with that shade!
ОтветитьI found all the hand movements in this video to be very distracting and irritating. It made it difficult to concentrate on what you were saying
ОтветитьWoolf's evaluation of Joyce wasn't simply classist and bigoted, it was dead wrong. Joyce was, if anything, better educated (and more intelligent) than Woolf, and her hostility toward the Irish Catholic writer was a nasty cliché. She usually avoided cliché, but in this instance, English prejudice regarding the Irish proved to be both unacknowledged and insuperable.
ОтветитьI l❤ve the lamy safari fountain pen. I have 3 of those and they’re my go to fountain pens❤️
ОтветитьI request you to do a writing routine of Roald Dahl.
ОтветитьI love Woolf's diaries! Aah, journals... I need more journals... lol
ОтветитьI have been journaling like this since 2017. I live alone so I talk to my paper as I would to a person. I am currently on binder # 19.
ОтветитьGreat video, thankyou. Lots of helpful comments too. I use my journal as a way to sort out my flurry of ideas and plans (adhd) with sketches and lists as well as script. I used to write a lot about my feelings but when those become too much i use my journal as a distraction....a design and plan space. Loved reading about how others use their journals, thanks so much.😊
ОтветитьI also couldn't keep a journal/diary until my mother passed away, and as a sort of therapy I write "letters" to her every day, and for four years now I have been able to write at least every two to three days if not almost daily on a notebook. Seems like I just needed an audience of sorts.
ОтветитьWhat a wonderful idea. Thank you for documenting this process and sharing with us.
I once did a series of journal entries that were letters to one of my role models. It made me think that you could write to Virginia Woolf.
Day One
Dear Ms. Woolf,
While we may not have met in person, I wanted to write and express my esteem for your writings and tell you how much your work means to me.
etc etc
it can also be conversational: “I know you didn’t like James Joyce, but I wonder if you had considered xyz … “
or even an argument, if you felt so bold.
These kinds of journal entries helped me clarify many things and find my way into a deeper relationship with my role model.
Sending you all good wishes for the writings and explorations.
Just gotta say that I absolutely love your outfits 🥰
ОтветитьWhat Journal did you use?
ОтветитьDoes anyone know how the figurative language sprints work?
ОтветитьI badly wanted to become a flight attendant because I thought it was cool, and like what she said, I find it lovely to travel everywhere. However, after finding out these dark secrets, I'm glad I didn't pursue it. Still, I want to go on board, and I would like to thank these crew cabins for their mental strength.
Ответитьmy birthday is august 25th.
Ответитьcould someone go over how her sprints work. ive never heard of them but i love them 🥺
ОтветитьWhat pen are you using? I've kept a journal since I was four, and I love it.
ОтветитьI’ve been journaling on and off since I was very young, like 7! But even earlier I’d you count random lists and drawings in a random notebook. I started writing all words when I was going through some major traumatic times in my life. The happy writing came when I got pregnant with my first child. Documenting more than stream of concious ness and a therapy. I have always used journaling as a form of therapy for myself. I never had anyone there for me and my journals always have been, unconditionally.
ОтветитьJust discovered your channel now, and although I'm only a little ways into the video I just wanted to say I love the style of your videography, it's very romantic and it has such a warm tone. Your softness and natural intelligence really comes through so well!
Ответитьyou are so inspiring.
ОтветитьWhy do you move your hands so much. Its incredibly distracting.
ОтветитьYou should try Artists way Julia Cameron morning pages.
Ответить"today is may 1 and i am so happy that you are going on trip to japan . " thanks for the one sentence of my today journal brought right down here
ОтветитьSmh don't go out and buy a journal just open up a Google doc. It's free and you don't have to worry about running out of pages or other people reading it
ОтветитьExcited to see more about the Japan trip soon!
ОтветитьI'm terrible at journaling. I tried since I was kid with diaries. Then journals. I can't. But I use my many lovely journals for doing my writer notes, character ideas, chapter drafts, etc. So, I do put my journals to good use. Plus, they are so pretty I can never resist buying them.
ОтветитьGood explanation of figurative language. Great video.
ОтветитьI'm curious to know if you're still journaling now since a few months have passed. I always fall in and out of journaling, although I always enjoy it when I do it!
ОтветитьWhat pens do you use? I'd love to purchase them! So pretty.
ОтветитьHello! I love your beautiful pen and love this video you shared! Thanks so much for sharing Virginia Woolfes strategy to journaling ! Very interesting and I learned a lot during this video
Ответитьwhenever I am about to journal someone wants to take a shit, a leak, a snack, or is fighting over something. Then there are those rare quiet moments and I think: I should be taking a nap now.
ОтветитьWhen you write … also think of what you would like to read from your great grandmothers journal and write it in your own journal. I would LOVE to have got to read what she did that day and how her home was laid out etc.!!!
Ответитьare there other channels like yours? I’m loving all of your content!!!!!!!
ОтветитьWhat is the name/brand of the pen you are using?
ОтветитьWho is the female writer you mentioned in the beginning? Couldn’t hear the name. The women in the tie
ОтветитьI always wanted to journalling when i was younger when covid came, i finally had a reason to do it.
Right now, I am halfway through my thick DIY journal
Lots of love💜
pls tell me what pen you are using bc I love it 😍
ОтветитьI've been journaling since I was 15 years old. Now, I'm 32. I only write when I feel that there's something that's happened that has had an impact in my life, as tiny as it may be. I love the idea of revisiting my journal 10 years from now and reading what I wrote in it. All the things that will have happened, my feelings in those moments, my wishes and plans, my mindset. Everything, really. When I'm writing my entries, I like to describe a bit where I am, what's happened before my writing, what I'll do next and how I was feeling when I picked up my journal. Also, as I've written 7 journals now and they are quite bulky, so last year I decided to write digital journals. I type into Google docs and save them. One document per year. Apart from saving space, the nice thing about it is that I can also add pictures to it. 😍
ОтветитьI have tried journaling before but I always end up tearing the pages because I find my writing cringe. I sound corny, tacky and/or pedantic when I try to write about myself. I'm not very good at sharing my emotions I guess 😆 So I have a junk journal instead 🥲
Ответить" . . . lacks intersectionality." LOL. 🤣
ОтветитьWhat pen is she using? Does someone know?
Ответить
