I think a 4080 is the limit of an 5800X3D

I got the 7800x3d with a 6600xt and its a stable 360fps on fortnite dx12. insane cpu. i dont have enough for a 4080 yet so its still a tiny bit stuttery with the 6600xt but better than my 5600g

Whey the cpu's and gpu's usage are so low? cpu in 25% or 30% and gpu not much higher than 50% most of the time?????? What is causing that?

Im so curious how far we can push this. For example, upgrading to an X670E board with a 5th gen SSD. Also, I read that installing 4 sticks of dual memory also increase fps, but more importantly decreases drops, such as the 1% and 0.1% fps drops.

⁠​⁠The clock speeds are dialed down and it isn’t an Overclocking behemoth and that’s not what makes the X3D chips excel.The X3D has a massive cache. Certainly some games will work better with an overclocked Intel chip. But, CPU intensive games and simulators are showing large improvements with the 7800X3D Over the 13900k. Microsoft fight simulator being one of the prime examples of this. The 13900k can’t even come close in flight and driving sims. For those of us into flight simulation and racing, the 7800X3D is a clear winner. So much so that I just replaced my 13900k for a 7800X3D and wow! 1% lows, frame rates (30-50% improvement), and VR performance are noticeably better in MSFS and the overall experience, especially in VR, feels like a generational leap. I certainly don’t recommend folks go out and redo their entire system if they don’t need to, but if you are into large open world games (cpu bound) or racing/flight simulation then the 7800X3D is well worth the switch to AMD. The 7800X3D is also about $85 cheaper than the 13900k, so if you are upgrading the AMD setup can be a bit cheaper.

Just for reference I am running a MSI Liquid Suprim X 4090 and have 32 GB 6000 DDR 5 for the AMD setup. I was running the 13900k with DDR5 6600. Also worth noting is that I havent owned and AMD/ATI product since the early 2010s when I replaced my 512MB ATI GPU for an NVIDIA 670. LOL, how far we’ve come!

Ryzen 7900x3D is clocked at 5GHz. it should be at 5.6GHz
no point comparing these two CPUs otherwise. Yeah they have difference in L3 Cache, but there is barely enough difference in real world with already enough L3 Cache.

Interesting that 5800x3d won in nearly every game. Who cares about avg fps? Oldest CPU here produced slightly higher 1% lows.

The 7900x3d is in a weird space. If I understand correctly, the 7900x3d basically becomes a 6 core processor with 3d v cache when gaming since the cores are split into two 6 core ccds. So it's basically a 7600x3d if you use it for gaming. Which I would suspect is why it isn't faster than the 7800x3d.

As soneone that wants gaming performance but also would like more cores for productivity work, the 7950x3d seems like a safe bet. But it's so damn expensive. I've never had this much trouble trying to decide which CPU to buy. 7800x3d seems like a no brainer if you're just gaming. But for people like me that could use the extra cores it makes the decision really difficult. Thoughts?

Intel cpus are held back by slower ram, same with ryzen, should have used 6000 cl30 minimum.

i have a r9 3900x and 16gb of ram. i change my graphics card for a rx 7900 xtx.
i getting like 200 fps on apex on 1080p and warzone 100, in 3dmark in getting 19.879 score. i feel like have some kind of bottleneck with my cpu or ram.

And with faster memory and cpu frequency intel is still faster…..

Me watching the marketing benchmarks with my 13900KS and 7800 DDR5 whitout OC i get in 1440P compared to 7800X3D more than an average of 21% more in all games you bench XD ! But of course people dunno bench CPU's with real optimistic and realistic reviews !

I’d swap 5800x3d with 7950x and 7900x3d with 7950x3d. 13900K is okay though 13900KS is preferable.
