The video is a cooking tutorial for making Shiro, a popular Eritrean and Ethiopian dish.

Ingredients Needed
Onions
Tomato
Garlic
Green pepper
Red pepper
Oil
Salt
Sugar powder (a mix of chickpea or pea powder with herbs and spices)

Preparation Steps

Chopping Ingredients
Finely chop onions, tomato, garlic, green pepper, and red pepper.
Cooking the Onions

Heat a pot on fire and start cooking the onions.
Add some oil.
When the onions turn slightly brown, add red pepper and cook for 5 minutes, adding small amounts of water intermittently.
Adding Tomatoes and Water

Add chopped tomato and cook for about 10 minutes.
Add 2 cups of water (or more, depending on the desired consistency) and wait for it to boil.
Mixing Sugar Powder

Once the water boils, add 4 tablespoons of sugar powder and stir well to create a smooth paste.
Final Touches

After 15 minutes, add salt to taste.
Add chopped garlic, green pepper, and optionally ghee (clarified butter).
Cook until the Shiro is well done.
Serving
Shiro is traditionally eaten with Injera, a well-known flatbread from Ethiopia and Eritrea.
