Entertaining....and highly unlikely! The British Navy was extremely good at hunting down pirates and destroying them in the most efficient manner. You'd never guess it from this film. The swimming bit is absolutely ridiculous.

No way they made a swim like that in any size group.
Swimming submerged is more exhausting and you can’t see where you’re going. Waves and currents will disorient you. Their weapons will weigh them down and impede their stroke.
People swim at different speeds so how are they supposed to swim 1km and arrive together?

And once they get there how do they climb up a smooth wet hull except 1 by 1 up a ladder or rope. Not an easy task in wet clothes.

Even if you could do all of the above, a British manowar has several hundred men. You could surprise the first few but the rest will overwhelm the exhausted handful of swimmers.

There was as much the show got right, as it got wrong. Are you telling me the fleet gave up cause they got punched in the face…once? It was one ship, sure it was the flag ship. But that’s what “transfer the flag” was in place for. The fight could still continue on a different ship

I love how Teach was awesoke during this scene and then in like two episodes he gets immediately bested by an obvious ambush. The nerfing of characters in this show towards the end was quite ridiculous.
