Archinstall - Arch Linux Made Easy

I'm from Germany and was pretty surprised by the sudden party lyrics being blasted at me during an otherwise very factual and calm video. :D
The rest of the video was very helpful too. I use arch now, btw.

This defaults to the built-in archinstall script now.

The biggest problem with that script is when you actually need to manually partition your drive. Nightmare

I once tried to download arch linux just by following the official guide without using archinstall which makes it much easier. After many hours of study, practically the whole day to be exact, I was finally booting my system 😃 when it finished booting it gave a blue screen 🙃, now I'm back to fedora, my mental sanity thanks me every 5 minutes for this wise choice.

Note: Not only that, but when I installed using archinstall, when I downloaded the nvidia drivers and restarted, my screen would lock at 1300x and my monitor is 1600x900 and I spent another whole day trying to solve it and nothing worked.

for my daily driver i use windows, but i have an old xps running arch with kde plasma and it rocks, i love it so much and would switch on my main pc if linux had compatibility for every app i have (one day!)

Arch is easy to install if you can get it to recognize your network card. Getting it not to break after updating is the real challenge.

For some reason Linux Mint and Fedora didn't work on my machine but Arch did. Took 2 hours to install everything manually but as a Linux begginner it was good for my learning and I thought it was simpler than using ArchInstall because I couldn't figure for the life of me how to partition. Guess I can't laugh at Arch tryhards anymore because I'm one myself.

My first time,we all remember our first time, installing Arch was a little rough. I was an Ubuntu noob and couldnt get help from others online. I followed the install wiki and was confused through half of it. I made it,then the second time was a little easier but then about the 4th time Ive installed Arch,it wasnt too bad at all. I was much more experienced with Linux so I understood it much more,so I can see it is a little rough for a beginner. Thats why i always tell noobs to try others first,get to learn Linux a little more,then try it. I do like this though,this looks so much easier.

I am determined to install Atch for the first time ever todsy. I will try manually install it but if i canmot do it by midnight i will Archinstall. Each time i try, i get further along and learn more so i reckon ill use arch by the way later.

the entire installation process without script is just "silly little linux user tappy-taps strange text from the internet". quite boring and unintuitive compared to more popular distros (I was kind of shocked at first thinking I screwed up my USB image) or other OSes like Windows but it's still nothing scary. consider it more of a tutorial or a trial period for Arch. if you don't like typing stuff from the internet to tty then you probably won't really like Arch more than other distros

I so wanted to switch over to arch from Ubuntu! I have always wanted a minimalist Desktop OS but as far as Desktop environment is concerned I'mma stick with gnome for I find kde too bulky. Albeit my system supports the mordern display server protocol, Wayland which I am aware is much secure than X11, it's the backward compatibility that I am more concerned about. I find Wayland "way" more problematic when it comes to running applications. Nevertheless, amazin video! Thank you! You just earned yourself a new subscriber 😇! So much to learn from ya!

i wanna set up duel boot with mac and linux just to bess around i got a older 17 alienware laptop nvidia gpu any recomendations i got 2 different ssd to put them on

lol, even if windows sucks. linux is still gon be trash if your pc is going to look like a fallout console monitor, having to type random ass commands without any proper visual interface for whatever is going on in the background. It really only be sweaty weeabos with grease running down their curly unkept beards that is going to use it. hah

Spent all day trying to make thw switch, and tried to put arch on my 2tb ssd. The worst part was getting the usb bootable to work.
Didnt work with rufus but it finally worked with the ventoy multiboot
