Watching this really made me proud of my country

I must be lucky to watch these 90s videos of ceylon from another century..very few are there thanks to some of american and british people..This was great country even her majestry queen elizebeth had came to ceylon those 1940s days..MIss these old 90s vibes of ceylon where days were very simply...world war came but didnt affect forwardly then ceylon got freedom and civil war came,this beautiful country lost lot of things..I wish I could go back to those days where british ppl were part pf the country.

Democracy is what made Ceylon(Sri Lanka) a poor country. Our people don't know how to elect competent leaders, people worshipped politicians in the past before this mf called Gotababhaya became the president and ruined this country last year, people were like slaves to individual politicians before. The one good thing Gotababhaya did during his term was stopping people from being slaves to politician by being a d*ckhead himself.

The true history remains hidden. The word Singhalese has been used to mean both the actual Singhalese and the Tamils who first inhabitated the island but have been unfairly treated when the British left. Before that there were more Tamils in the parliament as they were more educated but after the British left they have been slowly losing their power to the majority, the Singhalese.
The brain drain has cost Sri Lanka and brought its ruin while those Tamils who left are very successful in other countries like my father who left as he couldn’t get employed there. The diaspora send money back and still do so.
Whoever is listening to this documentary , don’t be taken hook,line and sinker by the high praises given to the Singhalese, whose troops butchered the Tamils during the warfare for a separatist state.

Felt proud watching this beautiful documentary .. however my heart is heavy with sadness , knowing how my beautiful Sri Lanka suffer today... what had happend to the talents and creativity of our people..? Where is our pride and patriotism? Why have we become a nation of begging ?... only politicians to blame..?

It's very heartbreaking to hear our main exports and our rankings in those exports at that time. If we had focused on those exports continously, we wouldn't had to borrow from any other country in the world. In my opinion, we would be way better off if British did not leave this country.

Sinhales ruined this country. Politicians and Buddhist monks devided the country to look after themselves. Civil war made so much Politicians rich. More than two hundred thousand tamils lost their lives. Now Sinhales realised that their leaders played big time politics using Civil war to ruin the country.
