You failed to mention that the move of Egyptian forces into Sinai was an act of war, a violation of the 1956 cease-fire agreement. Egypt also closed the Straits of Tiran to Israeli traffic, another violation of the cease-fire agreement and thus another act of war. Israel tried to get the matter settled peacefully, but Egypt refused utterly. Diplomatic efforts by USA and others also failed. Israel's existence was threatened by these two acts of war, so it acted quite properly. Violation of a treaty or a cease-fire agreement is always and everywhere an act of war and constitutes justification for an attack. Your one-sided reporting is typical of anti-Israeli propaganda. Israel did NOT start the war, Egypt did so.

this war happened long time ago but it's an extremely important one and there is a lot to unpack about it and about the years prior to that war.

basicly, the arab league waged a war of annhilation against Israel, if the arab league would have won and took over the country, the arabs wouldn't spare a single person, (same as they did in the territories they gained control over in the 1948 war which by the end of the war were jew- free), let alone thinking about withdrawing back to the 1967 borders.
However, this war ended differently and Israel actually captured territories from it's enemies and despite the arab aggressiveness, Israel is being condemned for the results of the war that it's enemies started till this very day.

prior to that war, Israel had no control over the west bank, east Jerusalem and the Gaza strip but the arabs did and yet no Palestinian state was established there. the modern arab demand of Israel to establish that state in there and calling it all of a sudden as "occupied Palestinian territories" is just a show of pure hypocricy, and I'm sure that this name was given to counter the Israeli presence there.

The narrative became so distorted and dishonest over the years. we went from the "Israeli arab conflict" to "Israeli Palestinian conflict" to "occupation" to "apartheid", as if it's about human rights. I do understand that some people have criticism about the Israeli approach to the Palestinians such as the checkpoints but that's a different subject which was shaped by bloodshed of lots of it

it's not about human rights, before 1967 Israel wasn't in the west bank, east Jerusalem or the Gaza strip where there are Palestinian arabs.
it's not about the so called "occupation" of the west bank and east Jerusalem, Israel captured these territories only in this war. Moreover, the PLO was formed in 1964, 3 years prior to the war.
it's not about that Israel needs to give some territories to the Palestinian arabs, the Palestinians have rejected a state of their own with east Jeruasalem as it's capital more than once.
it's not about helping the Palestinians, who are siting in refugee camps in arab countries for decades and are not allowed to get citizenship in some of them (look how many refugees were there in the past and how many "refugees" there are today, the number grew about 5 to 10 times)

it was and is one thing and only; the totall destruction of the state of Israel and it's people.
