Are you going to try this team building exercise at your next workshop? Let me know in the comments below. Cheers!
ОтветитьWELL, THAT´S NOT NEW! TELL US SOMETHING AMAZING & NEWER!
ОтветитьThis could really boost the confidence of employees that don't believe in themselves.
ОтветитьThanks Adriana! Great activity. I'll use it next week!
ОтветитьOMG, talk about putting you on the spot. If someone does not get a positive note from you they might take is personally. This is just the opposite of team building. This is a team dismantling exercise.
ОтветитьI would walk out if anyone ever made me do this!!!!! I am not 5 I am 61 and not interested in being humiliated. Getting to know people takes time. You know the expression -- play stupid games win stupid prizes. I just want to do a job!!!!
ОтветитьI went to school with a variety of majors…. Changing my mind at times. I first was political science, wanting to go to law school (still holds much love of mine), then education major, and I settled into American Studies (amazing how it studies the world too :))…. I remember reading and living Ralph Waldo Emerson and how he would give speeches around civil war and it was amazing how it inspired collective thinking of manifest destiny or collective individualism… but moreover, it spoke to what people hear in that moment and over time. Lots of learning and frankly healing and learning myself.
Later on in a job… I was a copy writer and RFP creator at a great company (Play with a Purpose)… it was teambuilding and event marketing. I would write up programs and the cut and paste action up and up to board rooms always fascinated me. The tailoring of proposals to different styles.
A few times, I would write something I loved and the owner or sales folks would be like… it’s too much. I was incredulous… sort of. I was nice and had enough business training to hear them…. But still… why couldn’t they see what I was talking about… I’d walk around Publix at lunch breathing my way back into “slicing my darlings in the proposal”…
Later in life, I was realizing what Emerson was teaching me and still does. The work of working with others and perspectives of empathy and needs… it’s a lot to take in at times… breathing helps.
I am so grateful for that education. I lost that job… about 9 months after the tragedy of 911… the travel and convention market… gone (along with whole companies who were clients). The event insurance stayed my job for a while. So many things…
Hello I will apply this one on our upcoming training, this is very nice idea, thank you for sharing...From Philippines.
ОтветитьPull through…it’s something you kind of understand in principle, but not until you truly experience various action and reaction of group dynamics… does it come together in a lucid and relatable concept. Intentions converting to intentional actions. The privacy, transparency and proper oversight of systems crosses through these matters… irony flows, the positive feedback loops help, but don’t completely ease bias. These things are not new.
I had. Manager once… who was the one who hired me in my first corporate job… interesting dynamics to be sure. At one meeting, I tried to show him some books and thoughts of the work I’ve done… he had expressed an interest. I usually wait for someone to care or have a common share point. It’s really just trying toe kind.
This manager still was my manger in very complex and shifting times in healthcare.
It’s all just a lot. But, there are so many wonderful pathways beginning to lighten. Granted, it make the blind spots all the more shaded… that too is understandable but can’t be completely understood. Being and nothings and All…
Much love y’all.
Love this video… thank you
ОтветитьWhen I worked for a teambuilding/event marketing/events company in Orlando as a creative development manager / RFP manager… it was a lot of fun and unbelievably educational.
The focus on team dynamics and creativity and pushing the bounds of productivity and creativity and finding those sweet spots of change management and pull through. I was mainly the bridge between sales and operations… doing the work of expensing, copy writing, vendor management, sales process informing/influencing… I had experience in event management and speaking and later in life… tons of sales and leadership experience.
I could talk through this lens for hours.
But, one time… we did a conference call about multi location meetings. I had all kinds of light bulbs go off… we could have teleconferences and break out sessions and videos and shared experiences… this was in the early 2000’s…the tech kinda existed of course but was not available in change management acquisition nor cost available for that sort of application… further… the pull through of later programs was always lacking (something I thought but never really said… the budget and pricing was just not there… something small but has grown in importance over the years)… something else I learned in later jobs.
It was an odd ironic hmmm when I attended a pharmaceutical meeting where a training operated like this… it made me smile.
There are platforms out there with various modeling and beta testing of market Space which can take some of these concepts to better places. But, it only works with decent and integrity filled pull through.
It’s not exactly “jazz” but it also is….
I'm going to try for a church group.
ОтветитьAwesome take on appreciation
