I wish Colossus was a playable character in this game.
I really really missed him!
Don't get me wrong marvel ultimate alliance 2 is a good game but it is not at all better than the first when it comes to the story
ОтветитьCant wait for the marvel ultimate alliance 3 review
ОтветитьYou forgot to mention the DLC characters that they introduced besides juggernaut.. I believe it was psylocke, cable, Carnage, the Black Panther
ОтветитьI think Sue would be more inclined to join the other side if Namor was involved.
ОтветитьNice vid.
I hold the first one up high. For a Few reasons.
Has my favorite comic book character (Dr.Doom) and a few more or my favorites with Moon Knigh, Ghost Rider and Sabretooth.
The costumes and by extension the powers and abilities (which could shift based on costume).
The levels were more varied in theme and such.
Also always been a huge fan of Arcade and Murderworld.
The little bits of it such as the quiz. Which we always have a blast seeing what we remember.
2 was fine. It did have carnage (my favorite Spider-man villain) but felt like a step back in mechanic depth.
I liked the idea behind the Civil War setting and choosing a side but the choice really changed very little.
Not a bad game but for me 1 is the best, 3 is good (has its issues but kind of acts as a mix of elements from 1 and 2).
All said, I do miss that marvel Heroes. If it hadnt been taken down Id still be playing it. Huge roster, varied gameplay and characters.
Wasted potential.
Keep up the good work!
I loved the first game! Had so much fun i played the psp version i tried playing 2 psp and was put off by the quality the overall story is ok and i might pick it up agian on a different platform great video!
Ответитьits quite a random thing to like but i grew up on the skylanders games i know spyro fans dont like them i get why but the Vicarious games in that franchise were often a chore to play, very gimmicky different artstyle I think they can be a polarizing dev some people really like this level design
ОтветитьSorry for all the issues you had. Glad got to see the video though. I never finished this game. I will one day but I kinda had same issue, after picked my side and did one mission just got kinda bored or some as compared to first one I beat on I believe ps3 and psp.
ОтветитьYh I didn't like the mechanics change at all. By end I was like, is that really all there is? They should have went full blown civil war story.
ОтветитьI only played through UA 2 once or twice. I remember the story not being as good and the game being glitchy. Like how auto level would always turn on so I could never level the characters the way I wanted. Not bad, but definitely not as good as the first one.
Great video, making work go by just a little faster!
Ultimate Alliance 2 was a good time but Ultimate Alliance 1 was way better but to me these games didn't stand a chance against X-Men Legends 1 and X-Men Legends 2 rise of Apocalypse
ОтветитьOddly, the games take on Civil War is a little better than the comic event it was based on
ОтветитьYou know what really upsets me about Ultimate Alliance 3 it takes place in a universe similar to the MCU
ОтветитьI actually preferred UA2 growing up but now I'm torn. I enjoy the story in the first game more but UA2 just plays better. UA2 was also my most played 360 have for a few years.
Ответитьgreat video, you should really review justice league heroes some other time
ОтветитьI honestly don’t mind the story being more grounded because this is the marvel universe not every story needs to have some big cosmic threat it can and has told great stories that are grounded.
I can however understand being upset about not having galactus again because the first game did tease that, I have a feeling if they didn’t tease his return a bit more people would be open to this game being more grounded
I buy Sue being in a different side than Reed because he is more mathematical and she is more emphatetic. Besides, they are maried, not the same person.
I agree that Wolverine would never go with the registration, not after what Weapon X did to him.
I just wish I downloaded the ps4 copy’s before they yanked them
ОтветитьA developer Katalina (I forgot her name) mentioned the Mua2 team really liked Emma Frost but the fans weren't asking for her. Katalina went on to say she pushed really hard to get Psylocke on there.
ОтветитьLoved this review. Personally I loved UA 2 but I feel like you should play the ps2 version because I gives me more UA 1 vibes
ОтветитьI was happy with UA 2 but Raven had set up Galactus for the second game as the big boss. I expected to be going more into the cosmic side of Marvel in a sequel. Switching it to Civil War and having Galactus be a thow away line in Thor's dialog really upset me. UA 3 didn't do any better either with how they set up not only DLC but the main story and unlocks. In the base roster you get not one but four different Spider themed heroes 2 of which are just Better Versions of Spider-Man and the other is Venom, leaving Peter in the dust. The X-men Legends games and Ultimate Alliance are really the only ones I can say I will go back to and play over and over. I may replay UA 2 once in a blue moon, but once I finish it, I don't wanna play it again cause the story isnt that good.
I will give UA 2 one thing though. It told the Civil War story the best and truly had no sides. In the Comics, Ironman won thanks to Frank Castle being apart of Cap's side and tony using villains to help push his agenda, in the movies it was Cap who was right. Yet you dont have a true right or wrong in the game. Both roads lead to a bigger threat, which is what should have happened in the other Civil War stories.
Also yes Im writing this before watching cause I like to put down my thoughts about the game before I hear yours. It always is nice to have multiple sides to look at.
That menu music for Ultimate Alliance 2 absolutely slaps. Game is certainly flawed but that opening theme sales you on the tone the game is going for.
ОтветитьDoes anyone else get a real magical nostalgia from the main menu theme..
ОтветитьI enjoyed this game a lot, but it did annoy me how bland ans linear the levels were. I loved the realistic graphics though and Captain America was based. Also never noticed that Ironman got the 90s Spider-Man voice actor.
ОтветитьThis is a great channel and specifically this video is awesome
ОтветитьHate to shatter your stance but in civil war sue did oppose read and it split the four ben was a fence sitter but eventually went with cap
ОтветитьIt's hilarious hearing Luke Cage say were you really thinking of letting that nutjob on the team with Deadpool standing right behind cap lol
ОтветитьWhile I genuinely adore MUA 2, I do agree that it is a step down from MUA 1. For me, I feel that MUA 2 is not as immersive as the first one was. Like in MUA 1, you were able to talk with the characters and get their origin stories or references to recent/past comic book events, and in good detail. Or they would even talk about the current objectives and give insight to who or what something is. Not to mention the amount of special dialogue hidden throughout the game. Even now when I play it, I feel like I discover new dialogue. And it's so spread out around everywhere: from the main hub areas, to random NPC interactions, and of course the boss fights (my favorite dialogue is between Spider-Man, Lizard and Scorpion). I felt like I was in the Marvel Universe! In MUA 2, I don't get that. When speaking to other characters, they are just replaced with dialogue trees and once you speak to them, you can't speak to them again. Even then, you can only talk to them for so long until they just say, "sorry I got to go" and walk away lol. I remember how disappointed I was when I would run in to a villain of one of the heroes on my team and find that there was no special dialogue. Not to mention that, in the hub areas, on the rare occasions you actually find a special dialogue, your character doesn't even speak! It's just the same responses written in the way they speak, with the NPC doing the special dialogue. Not to mention the lack of costumes and powers. Overall, I didn't find myself really "get into" MUA 2. Sure, I customized a little, but all in all, I found myself mainly just going with the flow. In the first game, I found myself actually taking the time to really strategize and customize my team in so many aspects: their gear, their costumes, their powers, and their stats. Anytime I found an upgrade, I would take a look at my team and strategize over who would benefit more. I didn't really get into that here apart from picking the heroes and occasionally customizing their stats.
What I did like about MUA 2 was the Fusion Mechanic. I really disliked how in the first game, ALL your heroes unleashed their Xtreme power regardless. And then it took forever to build them back up for EACH character. Besides, it feels like half the time, their Xtremes did little damage on the bosses (save for some select heroes). In MUA 2 I like how they put it where, regardless of what character you played, all the momentum you built went into a general pool and applied for everyone. And I like how there were different like Targeted, Clearing, and Guided. It really helped know what to do in certain situations. I felt like in MUA 1, the Xtremes were always hit or miss: some did really good against bosses, while others were kind of rendered useless because they're meant for standard enemies (like Spider-Man's Bungee Bash). I also like how the Fusion Mechanic also encouraged experimentation, as each character had unique Fusions with each other. I found myself switching heroes a lot to see the various Fusions. Another thing I liked about MUA 2 was how they handled Shield Credits. I like how it kind of goes into like, "separate accounts", for each hero. Y'know what I mean? Like say I collect 500,000 SC; that 500,000 goes to EACH character, not just into a pool that they share. So, I can upgrade Spider-Man and use all his credits, and then go to Wolverine and he still has all his 500,000 credits that I can spend for him. I know, it's not like some revolutionary or world changing mechanic, but I appreciated it so much. I found the farming aspect of MUA 1 a little too tedious (which is to be expected with farming, I know), but it always felt like no matter how much time I spent farming, it was never enough. I know it's a small thing, but I really enjoyed and appreciated that aspect of the game. I also like how you can change characters directly from the pause menu instead of at Shield Points, that was a nice touch (though I do miss the Announcer's Voice!). I also did genuinely enjoy the story and level designs, and boss battles.
Despite the flaws, I love both these games. They're what really opened my eyes to Marvel and comics in general. And I am forever grateful for them. I'm gonna definitely show them to my kids when they're old enough to play.
Brother I really need this game !
ОтветитьBlack Panther WAS in MUA2! lol and he's just as fun to play as one of my favs. Also I dont know much about Songbird as a character but I love her look and powers.
ОтветитьThe only thing the 2nd game had over the 1st is graphics that’s it
ОтветитьSongbird can go to hell. This was a step back from the first game in a lot of ways. Bummer the 3rd installment was a switch exclusive, looks fun
ОтветитьHave you ever read a Fantastic Four comic? Sue would absolutely tell Reed that he's wrong. That's one of the best parts of her character (at least the more modern interpretations). She's not afraid to tell Reed that he's being an idiot or that what he's doing is wrong and that's one of the best parts of her character
ОтветитьIf I had to give a ranking of both X-Men Legends games and all three Marvel Ultimate Alliance games from worse to best it would go like this
Worse: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3
Bad: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2
Good: X-Men Legends 1
Really Good: X-Men Legends 2
Best: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1
Well to be fair Marvel has always been the world outside your window and has always been a little more realistic than others like dc but yeah the levels in this game suck in comparison to the first game
ОтветитьMUA2 is way more fun than the first one
ОтветитьI missed out on the re release with the dlc included 😢😢
ОтветитьUA1 and UA2 are still better than UA3 and its iso8 bull crap
ОтветитьThis is not better than xmen destiny
ОтветитьHope they put this back on the PlayStation store
Ответитьyeah this sequel was disappointing compared to its predecessor in my opinion.
ОтветитьI grew up with this and the fkrst Ultimate alliance. Tho I somehow beat the 2nd one and never beat the 1st. Only getting as far as the beginning in jolutheim, i think it's called. And I'll say I have high love for both. Was never abled to fully best both of them because my 360 disk tray scanner stopped scanning and just kept saying error. But from the time I did have with them. I liked em. Especially the 1st one when I finally started growing up and realized I could beat it. I didn't die over and over again. Then restart it with a new save. The sad part is I lost that part to the furthest I've ever gone because I couldn't save it. I was stupid back then and didn't know how to get rid of the past saves I made for no reason. Soooo I never beat the game
ОтветитьThe team attack function in MUA2 is underrated. Also, it is a graphical step up from MUA1. The only downsides are that MUA2 has far less selectable costumes per character and a much smaller roster.
ОтветитьI think x men legends is way worse, not a very well made game, the second one is slightly better.
Ответитьnaming this the same as the alwaysnerdy video isn’t a top 5 gamer moment
ОтветитьYou should play the ps2 version of this game. It's completely different
ОтветитьBrother you gotta read the comic book
ОтветитьEu até hoje nem sei quem culpo, se a Twentieth Century Fox ou a Activision, só por conta do X-Men Origins Wolverine, já que o jogo foi desenvolvido pela Ravensoft, a empresa que fez o primeiro MUA.
Ответить
