It's 2023 who is actually filling their tank that much It actually reaches the nozzle (petrol is too expensive)
ОтветитьNow someone explain to me why, when we try and gas up our 1966 ford, this doesn't work? xD
ОтветитьThank you for sharing
ОтветитьWhat happens if you rubber seal (air tight) the entry hole of the tank und pierce through with the nose?
(No additional air can get into the tank)
If a gas nozzle was invented today it would have a computer chip and a sensor. Proper engineering seems to be a lost art.
ОтветитьI had it overflow on me one time. It was nor pleasant and scary
ОтветитьAren't humans clever.
ОтветитьYa descárgate un programa que utilice modeladores 3d, así se verá en 3d las diferentes capas y mecanismos.
Ответитьgoogle probably would have just said a combination of springs, valves, and the venturi effect as a trigger when the pressure raises when the petrol level meets the nozzle tip....
ОтветитьA na Orlenie wszystkie popsute...
ОтветитьWhat can cause some of these to just shut off randomly? I seem to get it most when filling up a motorbike.
ОтветитьHow does this mechanism apply if we just want to fill a half tank?
ОтветитьAs cool as electronic systems can be, I do love it when things are engineered to operate automatically without a whiff of a computer chip to be found!
ОтветитьI thort so.
ОтветитьFascinating! Using my best Spock raised eyebrow ;)
ОтветитьDoes that mean the fuel grade is mixed when 2 people used different grades after another? At least for that tiny amount.
ОтветитьGuy is a traitor to Oxford, and to the realm.
Ответитьwe dont deserve these mechanisms. These things are way too smart for average users who dont appreciate even 5% of what they are consuming.
ОтветитьNow explain why it didn't shut off and I had Diesel running down the side of the car and out of the overflow under the wheel arch. And also why on my other older car the petrol pump cuts out as soon as you try to fill the car up and only by pulling the pump partially out and going for a 3/4 squeeze can you get fuel into the car? And the also expain why when you stop filling at £50 its suddenly £50.01 when you go to pay.
ОтветитьHappened to me, but in my country you can't handle the pump, gas station workers do that. So ethanol overflowed hard and stained the paint work on all of the C column on my car. Gas station didn't wanna pay, I went to court, someone said I would basically end up dead at some point. 😂
Big gas station mafia over here. 😂
Designer should be honoured , financially too…….
ОтветитьThis was incredibly satisfying thank you
ОтветитьThen people at the pump bypass this whole mechanism by continuing to pump past the shut off multiple times.
ОтветитьBut you assumed that this works only if the petrol reaches to the hole in the nozzle.
I have observed that the supply shuts automatically even if my tank isn't full, but the supply shuts off after it has dispensed the amount of petrol i had entered in the dial.
Very well explained sir
ОтветитьWas waiting for this! Extra kuddos for that satisfying tone in your voice when you explained the ball Bearing moving inward.
ОтветитьDo you have any extras you can spare? Whenever I go to the gas station, the pump says replace nozzle when finished
Ответитьfunny, decades ago I bought one on eBay to take apart and figure out how it worked. I came to the same exact conclusions you did without having to cut it in half.
Ответитьplease make a video about pulling the finger and passing gas
ОтветитьI’ve always been curious how it works, really.
ОтветитьI bet the petrol station people were annoyed !
ОтветитьGood old way of learning… cutting things into half 😂😂
ОтветитьThis clever construction makes me feel kinda bad about the fact that we won‘t ever need those again in the not too distant future.
ОтветитьInteresting obsolete technology.
ОтветитьThanks and appreciate all the efforts in this video. Just a little suggestion, it will be perfect if there's a bit of animated arrows to aid the descriptions through the very nice explanations. KUDOS~!
ОтветитьYet another of life's great mysteries solved.
ОтветитьThis is the best camera and video colors ever beautiful, it feels like you are in front of me teaching "my monitor gamemax".
Ответитьthanks man good study...science craft guy...got to find an easier handle.....
ОтветитьNo such thing as "suction force". Negative pressure causes positive pressure to exert a force. "Nature abhors a vacuum". Things aren't "sucked" in they're pushed in by ambient air pressure.
Ответитьwoman left the chat
ОтветитьWe need an indian to explain this in a simpler way...
ОтветитьSteve, since you say "petrol" in the UK, do you also say "petrol pedal" instead of gas pedal or "hit the petrol!" instead of hit the gas?
ОтветитьI have a question regarding Gas nozzles. If you only have one nozzle and multiple grade fuel's how does that work?
Ответитьehhh, for some reason these things never worked for me and it always spewed diesel on the side of my car, but i have no idea why that car specifically failed with this handle
ОтветитьCool, so it was indeed pressure. I expected it to be simpler though! Still, it's quite simple I suppose.
ОтветитьYour videos too complicated but keep it simple so people can understand.
ОтветитьWow! Nice explanation and interesting topics on your page. New sub here! :)
ОтветитьWhy doesn't the venturo tube just fill up with petrol at the start though?
Ответить
