Sweeeet, almost got that as my first Fuji received few weeks ago the XT-2 after much research and pricing, seemed perfect. So one model up, double the price, but sensor and last one to be made in Japan. I love it!
ОтветитьAnd just like that they're all over $400 now
ОтветитьThe TTA 35/1.8 AF you've got into the video, is being released, Mark. :)
ОтветитьI generally enjoy your content for conсise useful info, but that forced "suspense" and even blanked out video descriptions make me feel like you hold viewer for an idiot who HAS to click your affiliated links. Gotta tell you, it's not a very pleasant feeling.
Especially after previous video with such amazing subjects as Lens 1, Lens 2, Lens 3, Lens 4, Lens 5, Lens 6, Lens 7, Lens 8, Lens 9 and of course Lens 10.
I just got a Fuji X-T1 and want to buy an adaptor to use my lenses that I have for my canon M50. Which adapter would you recommend?
ОтветитьAgree 110%. The XT-1 is a special camera. May not have the quickest autofocus or the latest video capabilities, but the X-Trans 2 sensor with the right lens makes great images. And , also it is Made in Japan :-)
ОтветитьNo three to four hundred dollars ,yes I agree ,stop driving the prices up.
ОтветитьI still have my first X-T1 that I bought the day they first hit the market. I replaced the rubber body cover twice (Fuji sent me replacements as the cover falling off was a known issue) I ended up putting leopard spotted duct tape on it instead and it still works just like the day I bought it. I use an X-T3 for 'work' now and have several X-E4 bodies for fun, but the X-T1 is still a fantastic camera that I use when my camera may get beat up. It really is still a brilliant image making machine. :)
ОтветитьI owned the X-T1 since 2017 and although its really bad at video, photography (esp in b&w) rocks!
ОтветитьJust checked. Yeah theyre a bit up from $300 atm
ОтветитьI was about to buy this camera, only to realize I already own it. Love the look of the images it produces, just don't use it enough. Time to change that.
ОтветитьI came here because that door needs to be closed
ОтветитьA fabulous camera. For some reason I sold mine a while back and very quickly regretted it. I couldn't get hold of another X-T1 at a reasonable price, but found a barely used (almost new old stock) X-T2 for a great price. I do think the small upgrades are worth it (I could have bought an X-T3 or 4 at the time, but honestly couldn't see the value in going further up the chain). I have a few cameras and some of them are better for some purposes (particularly fast action) but the Fujifilm is still my favourite. Just a beautiful camera with a beautiful output.
ОтветитьI, frankly, wish there were cameras still made without Video. I could care less about video in fact I detest it. I'm going to take a wild guess this is the XT1 which I have and bought years ago. But have sense then stepped away from photography in general. But my friend and Director of Arts at University of Phoenix keeps goading me. Joseph is an excellent published photographer. I don't like all his work but some of it knocks me out. We have an open agreement to get together for some shooting. Being it's Phoenix it will have to be in fair weather. And I paid $350 brand new not used about the time they discontinued it. And yes, tiny for my Extra large hands. So, yes I have a 3rd party grip.
ОтветитьThat 27 f1.4 sounds like something to try!! any thoughts about the new Sirui lenses coming out? I just love shooting cheap vintage lenses on my X-T3. My favorites are a Pentax 50mm f1.7, Canon FD 135mm f5.6 and a Canon FD 28mm f2.8. All of those lenses were less than $35.00 US. And, they are fun!! Thanks again for your awesome information. Have a great week.
ОтветитьIm not seeing this camera anywhere for 300. Nothing under 500.
Ответитьi cant agree with the video comments. lots of excellent videographers cut their teeth on this. and the IBIS makes it very good while not requiring a gimble..
ОтветитьI currently own the Fuji X pro 3, would you recommend trading in and getting the XT-1 instead?
ОтветитьI would add the Fuji XC 35 f2 (for around 170€ in Europe) as a very good and inexpensive AF recommendation instead of the yet unreleased TTArtisan 35 f1.8 (lens 6). The Fuji is lighter, smaller and has a much narrower minimum focus distance of 35cm instead of 60cm.
A few months ago, I switched from a Nikon D7200 to a used Fuji X-T20 and was very lucky to get a defective one for just 180€. The internal buffer battery is dead, so it loses all settings when the battery is removed. But I can live with charging the camera via USB cable. Together with a new XC 35 f2 I got a great starter kit for just 350€. 😁 And with an inexpensive Nikon - Fuji adapter I can use my vintage Nikon lenses (105 f2.5, 50 1.8, Micro 55 3.5).
Gosh I have this camera! Love it with the 18mm f2. However, it can’t beat my EDC, the Ricoh GRd
ОтветитьNothing Fuji costs that little not even the trashy A series. Stop with these toxic ragebait headlines.
ОтветитьGreat Video
ОтветитьI'm still rocking this in 2023. I focused on glass and some day will upgrade the body. Great camera for astrophotography. Get the Rokinon 12mm 2.0.
ОтветитьMost of your points are spot on, apart from the autofocus argument, and that it was great in it's time. Continous AF performance was never that good (when it launched it was nearly unusable, it needed some big fw updates to be formidable. The A6000 came out at the same time and it's way stronger in that regard (andd in video as well)
ОтветитьNot a single one on ebay in the US under $400... Never mind.
ОтветитьHi Mark, I got the X-T1 a couple of months ago. I love this camera. I paid a little more. $450.00. I got the limited edition black and silver. I just got the grip. Some time ago, I got the TTArtisan 17mm f1.4. This video motivated me to go out and take some photos with that combination.
ОтветитьGreat content Mark.
ОтветитьVery nice that you're recomanding "old" cameras that are still woth buying. Would be good though to mention that the Fuji recomendet has not a 24mp but a 16mp censor. And even more important that it has a MFT censor what especially comes into play with the lenses you`re recomending. At least these informations about the camera I got opening the link on ebay you have in the description. Think it would be usefull for buyers to have a more complete image about what they're going into... All the best and greetings
ОтветитьThe only fuji camera you will ever need!!!
ОтветитьI just picked one of these up locally a few months ago. I am a Canon shooter, owning the M50, 5d MkII, R7, and R5. I have to say, the XT1 is my favorite grab and go camera. I recently took it to a wedding in Washington DC, and became a 2nd shooter of sorts. I took all the images in B/W, and the family whose son got married, raved about them.
Keep up the good work, love all your videos on the M50, and more.
Jesus Mark, don't hype the X-T1 too much, we've since 2 years already the situation with all over-priced X100 series, especially the X100V, because of ShitTok videos & Hipsters. Have mine since 2014. I enjoy the X-Trans I/II Sensor since the X-E1...X-E2, X-T1 here. XF 18-55/2.8-4 here, and the 23/1.4 R "Fujicron" soon...being shooting Fujifilm since the original X100 digital, before, Fujica ST-801. Love Velvia 50, Pro 400H, Acros (now II) 100 from Fuji.
ОтветитьAs a hybrid photo/video shooter I use X-T3, and I have quite some issues with auto focus in photography, in video it's just fine for my usage. Maybe it's down to the probably faulty unit of my 18-55 lens, idk. Also I had shutter release issues, turned out that there was a flex cable of shutter button damage or something, but gladly it was on warranty. I'm pretty unlucky when buying some tech stuff sometimes ;c
upd. I also recommend Capture One with x-trans files, Lightroom rendering is just doesn't work imo with these files
Love seeing you talking about Fuji and even more when recommending lenses.
Love your content.
Getting a X-T1 for under 300 bucks is very lucky, even last year you were very lucky to find it for less than 300 bucks.
Many photographers look for X-T1s and X-T2s for full spectrum conversion because of their affordability, but as time passes by it seems that there is a craze for older cameras going on, and people now have this urge of fear of missing out are driving secondhand prices to beyond reasonable.
And frankly I don't know when people will realize that paying overly inflated prices isn't a guarantee that your resale value will be up trending as well just because you've overpaid.
Just like the used car market, this trend and hype will die out and so I hope for the sustainability of this hobby.
Picked up my xt1 back in Jan for $300 CDN. Love it but there are a few limitations like yhe video. I have upgraded to a xs20 but still love my XT1
Ответитьthanks for the effort and sharing. i still use my XT1 (and XT2!) on a regular basis. your description of the suggested lenses is pretty darn tempting. thumbs up.
ОтветитьTotally agree. Great EVF, weather sealed and a flippy screen. Images are sooo organic. I feel that the x trans II might just be the best sensor of all time.
ОтветитьTips and tricks. My respects!
ОтветитьThis was the camera that I took the leap from point-and-shoot cameras (Canon G12, Lumix LX3) to interchangeable lens cameras about 3 years ago. With my priorities being budget and being able to photograph my kids(sports, vacations, etc.) it came down to the Lumix G85 until I saw one video that compared the XT20 and the Lumix G85. That video got me interested in Fujifilm enough that I ended up getting a used XT1 with the awesome XF 18-55mm kit lens for just under $600. I liked it so much that I bought an X70 and an XA2(Bayer sensor) well before Fuji prices skyrocketed. I eventually bought an new/unused Lumix G85 for cheap and am happy I did but I would still be happy if the XT1 was my only camera. Great video and thanks for the lens comparisons/reviews. I have been eyeing those TTartisans but wasn't sure where to start.
ОтветитьIsn’t this the case with ALL Fuji cameras?
ОтветитьLOVE the suggestions based on a budget. I just wish Fuji glass was a bit cheaper/had more options on the used local market by me. Just starting the video but excited to see where it heads
ОтветитьMy brother in christ, the XT-1 does not go anywhere near $290......... I WISH
ОтветитьYou are wrong when you say that the cheaper Fuji cameras don't have X-Trans. XE1, XE2,XE3, XE4, XT10, XT20,XT30, XS10,XS20... they all have X-Trans sensors. It is one of the big selling points for those lower end cameras. You get the same sensors as the big boys. Well, until the XT5, XH2, and XH2S where the difference is the resolution and whether or not the sensor is stacked or not.
You are right when you say that not all of Fuji's cameras have X-Trans. X-A series and X-T100, X-T200, have bayer sensors. X-A series and XTXXX series cameras aren't made any more though.
Sorry..... I AM NIKON and will die NIKON!!!!! Thanks
ОтветитьYessss....love the images from my XT-1!
ОтветитьBang there goes the cheap XT1 cheers mate !
ОтветитьGot one from mpb a few weeks ago and a ttartisan 27mm 🤧🤧🤧
ОтветитьHello Mark. My surgery went very well. Long recovery though. Been planning on getting the Canon R5O and lens u recommended so that we can travel once I fully recover but this camera looks amazing as I really do not intend to shoot video.
Would this be a better option for me. I love street and landscape with the lens capabilities of zooming a bit for landscape.
If so what automatic lens or lens should I consider?
Can’t tell u how much researching prices and YT R50 tutorials helped prepare me for an intense surgery by keeping my spirits up. I owe u for helping me ❤.
That 7 artisans f0.95 35mm is brilliant. Thank you for recommending it
