If you think any chromium based browser is private, I have news for you...
ОтветитьGood video!
ОтветитьI think you missed out on Blender. It’s seriously awesome and while you can find closed source alternatives that do similar things there’s nothing quite like it for versatility, extensibility, and wide usability.
Ответить2 years later, tired of my data being harvested so I installed grapheneOS. So far I'm loving it. Main desires on phone is calling, texting, secure messaging, and decent navigation.
Anything else is bonus.
Wondering why grapheneOS is not on this list and if it would make it in 2022.
Wonderful list👍👍
ОтветитьI find that small tools tend to be better when they are FOSS, major FOSS software developed by companies also tends to be high quality.
Ответитьhappened to know any open source offline sharing apps? if i wanted transfer my files between my mac and my android phone
ОтветитьGood stuff, good stuff.
Ответитьfirst - Brave and Signal is not a foss programms
Ответитьi thought; brave is a google browser
ОтветитьI know this is a 1 year old video
1. Brave: ehm , it is not that it is bad but it has its share of issues and "events"
Saying that Line is a better OS than its counterparts is like saying that a Ferrari is better than a tractor. Well yes on a well paved road or in a track of course , but on a farm? and the opposite . That is and will always be based on use case and preference (unless somehow devs will start supporting all OSes equal)
BRAVE has major memory hog issues. Major.
Ответитьactually linux is more simpler when u look logically
ОтветитьBrave: adblock built in WITH BUILT IN EXCEPTIONS for big tech tracking like google, Facebook etc..!
ОтветитьI just realized how much better MP3 sounded than .m4a. So, I watched a few videos by audiophiles and they say .flac and .wav sound far better than MP3 audio files. What are the best FOSS apps for Android (preferably from FDroid) and PC using Debian Linux that will play .flac and .wav and e around for a long while (still get updates once in a while)?
ОтветитьI generally use fdroid as my standard for 24k Foss
ОтветитьGodot is a FOSS game engine that beats unity in a lot of different ways it's still pretty young but it's got a lot of promise.
ОтветитьBitwarden. <— Period
ОтветитьInteresting- have to look into these, thanks
ОтветитьPortmaster is amazing.
ОтветитьFor android Bromite Browser is pretty good, default Ad blocker is also good I rarely see any Ads at all.
ОтветитьAny FOSS app for payments and banking?
ОтветитьBitwarden has "Sent" built in so you can send files over that. Not sure on size limit though.
ОтветитьLast I tried, which is more recent than this video, was importing my text messages into Signal. It got most.. but excluded MMS messages (lengthy texts & images). I deleted it for the time being, but really hope they can fix that.
ОтветитьGoogle CEO disliked the vid. Along with 3 buddies.
ОтветитьMattermost (discord/slack alternative )
ОтветитьBrave is owned by DCG which is owned by the Fed reserve owning globalist families that control the world, via trusts
ОтветитьMake video on best andorid open soruce keyboard plzzz
ОтветитьThe great information this channel provides is very helpful, but it would be even more so if you would put links in the description to the software you mention in your videos.
ОтветитьI feel weird using brave
ОтветитьTry out smash.
In order to use onionshare the other person has to have tor browser. With smash you could send any file of any size
When you use 4 of these
ОтветитьSo much value, respect. I’ll start donating you bro
ОтветитьIt's amazing that opensource, community funded projects can be better than their for profit counterparts. They do so much more with much less resources. :D
ОтветитьNo sms/chat app is secure even signal as long as registration requires phone number. The problem with website are making it hard to use wihtout them accessing our private data like cookies.
ОтветитьI can't agree with Brave - browser allows Twitter and Facebook trackers; generates referral links for some services; connects automatically to Brave servers and sends data to third parties; auto-updates cannot be canceled. But the browser is great! I'm waiting for someone to create the perfect fork without spying. Brave has Tor and beats fingerprinting, a built-in torrent client based on WebTorrent and more.
ОтветитьJitsi Meet over Zoom
ОтветитьUse Krita if you are into digital painting. You won't regret it .
Ответить"Sharing any file over 25MB is typicly a hassle"
Laughs in 2GB file sharing on Telegram
Ungoogled chromium > brave
ОтветитьDanke
ОтветитьAgreed, except Calyx. Graphene seems to be more stability. No errors, clean updates, everything works smooth. I would like to use Calyx. Maybe my knowledge isn‘t far enough...
But I‘m thankfully for all these guys doing this hard work for us!
What do you think about Mozilla WiseLock as a password manager? In conjunction with Firefox, and using it as the default password managerial on Android, seems quite versatile and powerful to me
ОтветитьAnd now the ones you have forgotten:
Vlc
Postgresql
Gcc
Every good neural network library (Tensorflow, Keras, Torch, ...)
Blender
Godot
Every Linux desktop (Mate, Gnome, KDE, Lxde, ...)
Nginx
Gazebo
OpenCV
OpenAL
Pulseaudio (despites all the critics in the past, the last few years it has become aweasome)
ROS
Lots of text editors (Geany, notepadqq, atom, vim)
Every good programming interpreter which language is still used (python, Php, Bash)
OBS
Lutris
Wine/Proton
OpenGL and Vulkan
OpenXR
I might still be missing a lot.
Brave? - - - - > Bromite is way better. Brave uses the 'privacy storytelling' in their advantage, but.. I don't trust them.
ОтветитьOnion share is actually the best
ОтветитьI wasn't knowing how onion share works, thanks for letting us know
ОтветитьPlease do a video on Windows 10 Ameliorated edition.. It claims to be privacy friendly and telemetry free
ОтветитьOnionShare has a Flatpak?
Ответить
