What annoys me about sot is how literally doing any smart strat, most dweebs will complain that it’s grieving.

Personally i think people who board ships and just act like minges to constantly drop your anchor are a lot more cringe. Definitely going to start boxing up my capstan now, will make it a lot harder for shitters to play like losers.

Played a couple times, got griefed a couple times. Stopped playing... glad some ppl find this game enjoyable though

My favorite memories was solo sailing the brig. Galleon was too big so I solo sailed the brig.

I’m only here to get out anger. I was being griefed by my own teammate for a hour and a half on an open sloop. Kept throwing my loot overboard and keeping the ship moving or stopped and locked. Drove me nuts because it was five hours of loot and I lost all of the good stuff to my own teams bullcrap

Griefing is pretty much for manlet in needs of proving something to themselves, I've seen so much people like these (you and them) ruining each others' fun just out of the blue

I only run my loot into the red sea if I'm being griefed (getting chased for 30 mins while trying to do a tall tale)

griefing is why i quit the game three years ago, might check it out now that private servers are a thing

PvP is not Griefing, Griefing would be going out of your way to sink your own teams ship.

Question for you: how often do you record for hours just for nothing interesting to happen and no video being created?

Its 100% a griefer move to spin the definition of "grieving" so that he doesnt look like a no-lifer.

Unpopular opinion: they didn't grief you at all, you started the grief and were the only one participating.

Shooting a cannon isn't grief. Neither is covering the anchor, even if it's dumb.

And the didn't know you were on a tall tale lol

I'm generally a peaceful player, minding my own merchant business and whatnot. But there was that one time where me and my brig crew spotted an abandoned sloop at a siren sanctuary...

We stole all their cannonballs, wood, food and any supplies we could find. Then I took a keg and tucked on the sloop, while my friends waited on our brig neraby. After about 10 minutes the guy returned and started negotiating with my friends. They pretended to be friendly and he was willing to give up all his loot except for the skulls, which he had level 5 emissary flag for. Then kaboom - something exploded on his ship. He rushed back to repair his ship, completely oblivious to the fact that it was one of our crew who detonated the keg. But when he started bucketing the water out, I had to reveal myself and kill him. He wasn't even mad at us, just sad to lose his level 5 flag.

That was the most despicable thing I did and the entire operstion was probably the definition of an overkill.

No griefing is only when you negatively effect your own crew like burning the ship, dumping treasure, dropping anchor over and over, staying on wheel to crash and sink the ship. That sort of stuff. Anything you do to another crew is just being a pirate

My last sot experience was a 4 man galleon of russians sinking my solo sloop after 3 hours on the sea.

I had to redo this entire tall tale like 3 or 4 times before completing it, mainly due to losing interest after being griefed, a little bit of bugs and being kicked off. It was so annoying bc to actually start the tall tale I had to swim all the down
