Synanon - INSIDE The Most Dangerous CULT in America 4K

I went to Cascade School in Northern California. It was formed by former graduate students of CEDU which was in Los Angeles, and straight from the teachings of Synanon. We had "raps" 3 times a week which were a form of " The Game" and we went through Propheets aka workshops from 24 hours to 3 days and our last Summit was a 5 day. I went 1985 to 1987 when I graduated. Cascade saved my life, people can say I am brainwashed, and that is interesting since people do not even know you. It was a very hard program and not meant to be easy or fun. I am 52 now, and I am still very close with many of my Cascade school mates. Most of us are in a private FB group called " I survived Cascade School. We are a unique group of people. We have lost quite alot of friends to drug overdose and suicide. Those are the people I believe Cascade was not meant for them, I do not believe it was a program meant for everyone. Anyway I do like watching videos like this about Synanon. Our staff never hid the fact that the basis of our school was from Synanon. Honestly at 14 years old that did not mean much.. I was in a spin-off of synonym called Peer 1 and the Haven in Denver Colorado. They did not castrate us but this video just not show the horrors that we experienced up until the current day. Nobody hears about it because I was sentenced there from prison.

I've was in offshoot of synonon, called the Phoenix House in late 90s...and we played the game and to be honest it was completely awesome. It wasnt simply attack therapy there were different ways to deal with each person depending on what was needed. The game was just a small part of therapeutic community and not even the strongest. By the way it seems to have worked some 25 years later.

I can’t help connecting the sitar playing to the 1960’s and the obsession with eastern religion in the US. The Buddhism craze continues to this day but it harkens back to the Nazis and their search for the original Aryans in Tibet. The Nazis began as a cult that practiced black magic and became a political party. One has to be very careful when getting involved with unusual movements etc.

I'd forgotten about Synanon. I met a bald headed girl in the mid 70s. We were resident's on 150th Ave. in San Leandro. She'd recently left/ escaped, Synanon. She said she was forced to go against her will. She was called C.C. aka "Bubble's", because of her Callidisope, eyes. A tall, skinny, girl. Her bald, head was just sprouting, new, growth when I met her.

In 1975, in Marin County California, juveniles were being sent to Synanon and other bizarre places to TREAT the kids for truancy and other non criminal activities...
I witnessed this as a FREQUENT FLYER in the juvenile system and I know without a doubt my probation officer D.D., did EVERYTHING he could to keep me safe and away from the BS doled out to juveniles and their parents...

Approximately 2 years ago.., while looking at my own juvenile court records, I found that I was recommended to go to the state hospital at Napa for being a runaway and involved with minor criminal behavior.
In fact, I’d never been charged with a crime...instead I’d only been with others deemed unacceptable by society...
I’m disgusted and angry as the final decision was a LAST RESORT group home which was run by a pedo and his wife...
He walked around with no clothes on an would tell us (6 teenage girls) how he knew we each wanted to be with him...

All the BS that’s allowed to happen to teenagers is revolting to me.
I am 65 and can deal but, life COULD HAVE BEEN SO MUCH MORE AMAZING IF ONLY US HUMANS TOOK TIME TO RESEARCH WHO AND WHAT WE ALLOW AROUND OURSELVES AND OUR CHILDREN.
I am guilty of allowing bad people and situations around my children and as ashamed as I feel.., I understand that too often we’re product’s of our environment...
I’ve asked for forgiveness and can no longer live in guilt...
I do pray we choose to rid ourselves of generational sin..
One thing I do know:
We’re aware when we are outside God’s (a higher power) will...

I was actually in Synanon for three weeks whenI was 14 yrs old ,When they denied my mother access she pulled me out. i still have nightmares and I am 67 now.

So many cults were operating in California in the 50s, 60s and 70s. Scientology, The People's Temple, The Source family, the Manson family, Synanon, and more. It's fascinating to ponder the causes and atmosphere that breathed life into these cults. Synanon was the first to use the controversial attack therapy, which they called "the Game" to treat addiction. Later this therapy was applied to the troubled teen industry and chaos ensued. We have Synanon to thank for countless cases of mental and physical abuse against children and teens at various alternative schools such as the Elan school, Straight Inc., Odyssey house and many more. I've always been surprised that Synanon doesn't get as much attention as other cults considering the size and influence of the cult.

It hit the news in N.Y.C. when I was in phoenix house, the therapeutic community which was started by 5 synanon people who left for NYC.
