Another great video. Thanks.
Ответитьso im writing my first book right now and im actuaclly just writing out the entire plot in one giant run-on sentence in google docs lol
ОтветитьHi Abbie, I watched this video and implemented it in my writing, it was so good and I also got a good review. The best part is that it's my 1st time and it was soo easy to get the outline done. Thanks Abbie🌹
ОтветитьI try to write my fiction and non fiction starting with an idea, then I break it down into 3 parts - beginning, middle, and end. Then I try to figure out the number of chapters, each with a basic idea of what will be in them. The key thing I have learned is that an outline is fluid, you can change it as much as you like.
ОтветитьFinished my first novel last week, midway through second draft now. Wish me luck all!
ОтветитьThe pitch meeting 😂
Ответить@AbbieEmmons have you ever tried Notion? I see it's all over the Internet with a lot of templates for writers. I was wondering what you think of it. I've used your Scrivener template, but I've just wondered if Notion is a good planning option. Your thoughts? Greetings from South Africa 🇿🇦
Ответитьbut what about the puppy?
ОтветитьHey Abby! Does your process work well for non-fiction as opposed to fiction novels? I hear you reference a lot about characters and I am looking to write a non fiction novel and love your videos but want to make sure it works for a non fiction as well! Thanks so much love :)
ОтветитьI can imagine the Christmas sequel being called "100 Days of Snow". Because of bad weather, Tessa's mom can't drive to town and finds a house to stay in without knowing it is her daughter's at first. Tessa and her mother have conflict with each other, but Tessa can't kick her mom out the house because of the snow that never seems to go away. Weston tries to solve the issue between Tessa and her mom but makes things much worse. Everyone is mad at each other and because of the insane amount of snow, they are stuck with each other and hating each other at the same time. I don't know how the conflict is resolved but this idea just popped in my head for a split second, and I just wanted to type it in the comments.
ОтветитьHi I am loving this video! As you began describing the steps, ideas flooded my mind. I am starting with step 0, and will work each step one at a time.
This is incredibly helpful! Thank you! And I am excited to see what the end product will be! Thank you for this video!
Here is the start of my book, I would love if someone give me any ideas about how to improve: Blinding white flashes, blood all around, a strange dusty box, a red light, and a sudden BAM! Emma woke up, her palms sweaty. These dreams had become familiar by now. Sometimes, she felt they were more than just imagination. Yet, when she told her mother, she always said they were regular dreams and not to worry. Still, something inside her told her there was more to them.
Emma was just a 14-year-old girl with straight black hair, blue eyes, and she had the most beautiful smile but she never really liked herself a lot but it was not because of the fact she was skinny but because she had 2 weird long teeth which made her look more like a vampire rather than a normal person.
She lived with her mother who was very different from her. She was very weak, pale and her eyes were grey, she had bushy black hair but she had the same teeth as Emma. Her name was Victoria.
To be honest I am one of those prancer's, but I'm not so sure it's working out for me. I also get super distracted and procrastinate. I came across your video over a year ago in an English class and then I moved on. I'm currently in another English class and I really needed some direction for my story and then I remembered your videos. I am super glad that I found them on you tube because it's been a great help!!!
ОтветитьThis is gold. I'm preparing to fail at my first NaNoWriMo, so I want do as well as I can.
This series will definitely help me build the framework for writing.
I feel like I need to develop the character before I do any outline. it's that alright?
ОтветитьI SAW THE TESSA AND WESTON MENTION AND I SQUEAKED. AHHH
Ответитьknow the premise
know your characters
know the ending.
the rest will take care of itself.
blablablablaaaaaaaaa get to the point, world changer.
ОтветитьYou're good. No question about that. I'm glad I Panteon'ed you.
ОтветитьWhy am I passionate about the story? Well idk this is like the first original story that I was able to make up with great background and characters? (There's no truth that I want to shout from the rooftops.... Is it bad?)
ОтветитьFor me, the problem isn't to outline my stories. The problem is to stick to that outline😂. Usually, I manage to write a few chapters and then I get a new idea and change the whole thing😭. I have now been writing my story for six years and I don't have a single page written. Though I have hundreds of pages of abandoned crafts that don't fit my newest version of the story. And going with the flow doesn't really help because I still manage to change everything in a way that I can't just continue writing the same craft.
ОтветитьOH MY GOSH
I NEEDED THIS SO BADDDD
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
The moment you realize your 6 chapters in, but watch a video outlining your book. LOL never too late to revise and edit
Ответить"The Kid Gallagher Story " was written in 5 weeks. The Author was inspired by the legacy of Mark Twain. He grew up in the town that Mark Twain vacationed in! One of the most entertaining books I have ever read. Robert C. Bauer writes like no other!
ОтветитьAlguém já disse que você incrível em português?
ОтветитьI have the hardest time putting words together regarding a story without my characters taking the reigns from me. I am watching your video to learn how to improve my "middle"
ОтветитьAs a panster who had desperately wanted to outline, but never really knew how this was so helpful! It feels like my stories are a lot less messy and actually have a consistent plot. Tysm.
ОтветитьIt took me 2 years, and I've rewritten it so many times. Thank you for sharing your process.
ОтветитьIt may not be the most efficient method but I'm working in my first novel. I'm starting off with an idea and then a general overview of the story. I then move on to the main characters for the story, even if they never actually appear in it as such, ie, memories of a loved one whos passed on, etc. I also work on character arcs. I then cycle back through the process again, this time adding in more detail than before and keep doing this until I'm happy with the result.
Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 and good luck all 😊
Hey is Imogen Poots your sister?! 😅
Ответитьthank u for the processbut just shorten the intro a bit if possible and get write to it
ОтветитьYour videos are so helpful! I'm a new writer and I have so many ideas but I just can't put them down as a story. Your videos have been helping a lot lately though!
Ответить1
ОтветитьNot me loving the idea of plot bunnies so much that I decided to start using it
ОтветитьAs an aspiring author this was so helpful to finally get a solid outline for a book, fingers crossed this helps me actually write a book and not abandon it halfway through lol - great video!!
ОтветитьNever been able to write drafts or even plot outlines, mainly I didn't know how. Which has meant I've been discovery writing (new term for me) but the problem with that has been how to finish the last third & reach a conclusion (& all the rewriting). So thank you for showing me a way to try this out.
Like button smashed & this video has tipped me into subscribed too :)
Amazing 👁️👁️
ОтветитьThe pitch meeting: The one working is you, and the one in the brown top are your thoughts, which takes your attention off your work. EXACTLY me!!!
Do you think, this is a good idea?: Two 'adopted' teens being saved by a translator. Mix of own idea + Rapunzel (Tangled) + Cinderella
Show us the photos geez
ОтветитьWhat's going on with you girl!!!!!!!!! WHY DO YOU GROWL AT THE END OF EACH SENTENCE?????? It drives me crazy. Please talk like a normal person, not like a horror movie character.
ОтветитьMy goal is to make a great wen comic but there aren't many videos about this specify which are short and really helpful :) your videos helped me a lot
ОтветитьAnd I wrote an outline like this, nd Goodnovel reject me 😢
ОтветитьCool!! I’m gonna go write a 90’s sitcom! See ya! Happy writing!
ОтветитьAlert: this channel is addictive
Ответитьit was very helpful. thanks for sharing.
ОтветитьThat whole pitching a book to yourself bit is basically how my brain functions on a daily basis when it comes to planning my novel series... because I'm doing two at once. Like the crazy person I apparently am.🙃
Ответитьthe quality of this video is very good ! I'm starting to prep my comic book and this helps a lot.
ОтветитьOk i watch your videos at 2x speed, i don't mean to be a dick but some of it takes so much time
Ответить
