I always go back to the evidence that the prior MCU movies left behind leading up to this. Not just the Iron Man line from the first movie, but also Captain America saying Tony will never be the one to make a sacrifice move. In Ultron Tony dream sequences haunting him, he always knew he would be the one to save them, he just didn’t want to accept that. Becoming more evident when he had a family. Goes to show how they were able to write all this for tens years and being able to connect everything

Shoutout Dr Strange who I never originally liked that literally helps save the f*cking universe. I’m the biggest weirdo myself for not initially rocking with him.

Secondly and most importantly, this scene cemented for me the fact that Iron Man is the GOAT. It was a debate before when I was an ignorant child but he is the pinnacle of growth and advancement as a man and person. Tony Stark started not giving a single f*ck about anyone but himself and was literally arms dealing on top of being exactly like his father that was involved in the same sh*t but then proceeds over a lifetime to evolve into the man that saved humanity on top of being a great husband and father. He is and was hard as Iron. I’d say even harder than that. “The meaning of the name is clear now. Stan’s vision is clear now.” I thought to myself the first time I watched this as just a college kid who grew up on this man. Rest in Heaven. To both. Endgame. There’s nothing more to be said. It was all about being the best person you can be, spreading love to those that you can, and fighting and protecting what matters to you. Life is so simple, yet it isn’t at the same time. But it is always worth fighting for and so is humanity ❤

Having Tony be the one to defeat Thanos was a good decision as since The first Avengers movie, they have been building up Tony's fear of Thanos.

One touch I always like is how Thanos didn't curse the heroes. He just sat down and quietly accepted defeat.

He said that after using the stones he wanted to sit diwn and rest, his mission completed. With the stones gone from him, he took his rest just the same as his purpose was obliterated.

Fun fact: After this, there were only 3 films. 2 Spider-man movies and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. No other projects were made. Disney believes that this is where the franchise peaked and it was better to leave the universe open-ended while also giving closure to the two remaining properties that needed it.

This is what they must've felt like when Sta Wars came out in the 70s/80s.

Hulk brought everyone back with the first snap, and his instructions were basically "Bring everyone back, nothing else". I wish they did something with tony's final snap, where he did more than just destroying thanos' army, which could be shown in a later movie, or series. Maybe his snap was "Destroy all of thanos' army, and seed the next generation of avengers". Yknow? Something that can be expanded on.
