They want drug money for these cars.🤦🏽♀️
ОтветитьCan you do a video for the UK. We dont pay the taxes you pay
ОтветитьHow to buy a car in 2025….
STAY AWAY FROM ANY DEALERSHIPS! And stay away from brand new cars since planned obsolescence is a real thing. There is no saving money on cars. Automakers don’t want to fix cars; they want to sell them. Anything made after the automaker crash of 2008-2009 is pure trash, except the older generation Hondas and Toyotas until 2020. The proof is out there folks.
Great info, Ray. Much appreciated!
ОтветитьGreat video! This was very informative. Thanks for the content!
ОтветитьThis was great! Would you be able to do something similar with leasing and end of leasing with examples?
ОтветитьHow to by a car in 2025 is make them an offer you like if they don't except walk away
ОтветитьOur first house was $70,000 in San Diego!
ОтветитьHi, Ray. I have a question: Once you've done all the due diligence on a specific vehicle and are ready to buy/lease, is it a good idea (in order to save time and the back-and-forth at the dealership) to just give the salesperson the exact price upfront that you want to pay??? For example, I would tell the salesperson, "The total OTD price I'm comfortable paying is $30,500, including everything, except sales tax. If we can agree on that, great. If not, thank you and have a nice day!" I figured that cutting to the chase makes the most sense and saves lots of time and aggravation. What do you think about this approach?
ОтветитьShould you test drive a new car too?
ОтветитьExcellent information. The last 2 cars I have purchased I was allowed to test drive on my own.
ОтветитьBuying a truck today using your advice. Contacted 6 dealers that had my configuration in stock. Asked for their best OTD price. Then worked 2 dealers against each other. I think I got a good deal. Since I wasn’t willing to compromise on what I wanted I had limited supply.
Ответить👍🏼
ОтветитьRay, why to continue to looking to your left? 😎
ОтветитьRay in my opinion you should base vehicle affordability criteria on NET income and not gross income.
ОтветитьHi Ray and Zach, First, your work is excellent and it should be what I call a ‘Harvard chapter of life’…
Here is a twist IF you guys think this is a good idea…
It would be interesting to see you both do a sparing pitch with a buyer looking at let’s say a $33k new Hyundai Santa-Fe and walk in take control by saying, I have two used Toyotas that just came off three year lease’s I am considering… that’s why I have my running sneakers on today. However, I would potentially seriously consider buying the Santa-Fe (similar in price to these used vehicles) if we can barrel through the OTD for stock (# last 5 digits).
I am retired, I am perfectly okay with slightly used reliable vehicles for the rest of my life. I had purchased many vans and my salesmans cars in my company for over 30 years. You however have one advantage. All my old contacts have retired, so I am not loyal at the moment to any specific dealer.
I am 67 years old and probably a bit rusty, but I have a lot of time on my side and have spent three weeks doing my research. Just so we head in the right direction, I don’t pay ANY tariffs or extra mark ups, dealer prep or shipping fees beyond the Monroney Table, if you want to make a fast sale and make a sale and some money, fine, but if this won’t work for you, I can certainly be on my way…. Basically taking control, teflon man disclosed up front, less hassle time.
Feel free to punch holes in this. Ray your are the Aberdeen Proving Grounds of car sales. Love to see you boys in the ring IF this is an approach that may work for confident people.
I'm buying a 2025 Camry XSE at about $41,500. It will be delivered from the factory in the next few days. I have a credit score above 800 and I still can’t find a financing deal better than the incentive Toyota is offering of 4.99 for 60 months paying half cash up front. Is that weird? Is it possible for me to get the dealership to go even lower?
ОтветитьThank you for sharing your experience with the world.
ОтветитьWhat is the advantage of OTD price vs. MSRP discount? Everyone has to pay the tax, tag, title, dealer fees, etc. Thank you so much for your help.
ОтветитьGreat site and very useful information.
ОтветитьBro, I don’t think that 10% rule works for most people. Nobody under the average or medium income would be able to afford a car.
ОтветитьThank you Ray
ОтветитьJust bought a Tahoe in FL! Naples was a joke, ended up going to Arcadia and they were great to work with! Nothing extra, and 0% interest rate… finance guy tried but nope, finally a great experience
ОтветитьHow to buy a new vehicle in 2025. DON"T!!
Ответитьthanks you for the video i wish i knew this when i bought my 2021 tesla for 40k
ОтветитьThis is one of your best videos that I’ve seen. Tons of useful real word information being shared here. Nice use of the PowerPoint type of presentation.
ОтветитьI’m no professor but I’m pretty sure economics taught me when you have a large surplus of relatively lower quality supply you don’t raise the prices 😂
ОтветитьI needed this 2 days ago. Regardless I think we got a pretty good deal. We bought a 2024 Kia telluride sx glacier white with tow package and mahogany interior that was the managers car the manufacturer let him use. It had 2,700 miles and they gave it to us for a total discount of about $5k off msrp. $44k for the car itself and out the door total of around $49k. We ended up financing with them at 6.5% We put $25.5k down. I think I could’ve done better on the interest but this is my first time going through a car buying process and I helped my dad “negotiate” They didn’t budge more than an extra $1k on the car but according to reports we were under the $52k out the door target range. I definitely learned alot so thank you for all you information. It’s a lot to take in 😅
ОтветитьWhen you talk about otd and monthly income % to payment, how does that all fit iff you want to lease even leases advertised are negotiable
ОтветитьTrying to buy a wheelchair accessible vehicle. Talk about shady! There’s no negotiation and they seem to have the market locked up.
ОтветитьGreat info
ОтветитьRegarding Test Drive: Three rights don't make a wrong but three lefts make a Right!
ОтветитьSuch good info. Do you have any advice for buying a very specific model of car where you might have to go our of town (or state) to get it? It feels like in those scenarios you are almost giving up some leverage by the nature of it because they know they you don't have as many options. Also, any way to get them to be upfront about whether a car has been smoked in before spending time going to see it in person? I know they have pretty good cleaning methods these days, but I can still typically smell smoke even after those cleanings.
ОтветитьAll the marketing terms on the manufacturer site can be extremely hard to decode. I kept google gemini AI open while doing build and price and looked up everything term I didn’t understand. I asked AI questions like I would ask a mechanic or a salesman.
ОтветитьTHANK YOU SO MUCH
ОтветитьLots of details, thanks
ОтветитьGood video Mr. Ray.
Mr Rayyyyyyyrrrrmmmmondo
Do you do PPI on new cars as well? Also how do you get to contact these places through email only? I feel like that part was skipped a bit. Do you not include your phone number in the initial contact?
ОтветитьHey guys! I just had to stop by and thank you so much for EVERY single video you have made. Today I made my first car purchase in 13 years and thanks to you, I got a great deal on a 2025 Mazda S Sport. Using your techniques, it was literally the easiest purchase of a car I have ever done. In about a roughly 3 hour stretch I made the call to tell them what I wanted, negotiated, got approved and had the car delivered to my home. THANK YOU...THANK YOU...THANK YOU. I will HIGHLY recommend you to anyone I know in the car market!
