Hello, What's the best degree to be an investment banker?

Non-CPA Controller here with a word of advice. Which I believe echoes The Financial Controller's advice. If you are going into accounting, GET YOUR CPA. I didn't and had to fight tooth and nail to get to where I am. Always feeling like I have to prove myself. Feeling like people look at you like a glorified bookkeeper. Doesn't matter if I can provide the same results as a CPA in a private company, pass all of my audits and reduce their cost, fix their cash flows, or ammend their poorly prepared 941's, when I look at job postings, I see "CPA Preferred". Don't become salty like me, put in the 2 years and hey, you might be my boss some day :-) Best of luck in your careers everyone, salud!🥂

How much analysis is involved in accounting? Do accountants purely follow rules, create financial statements and make sure that there are no errors in these statements or do accountants also analyze financial statements and make recommendations based on their analysis to the company? Or are these tasks limited to finance? I know based on this video that accountants’s role isn’t to make future predictions/project how the company will do in the future but I was wondering how much they are involved in commenting on the financial situation of a company in the here and now. And if they are involved in these tasks would these responsibilities only fall on senior accountants and managers or can junior accountants also be involved in the analysis of those statements?
