Wait…. No cup holders up front or in the doors?
ОтветитьI like how finished looking this concept/prototype looks. It looks production ready. Hopefully, they can get things tested thoroughly and production line ramp going smooth.
ОтветитьI wish the charge port on the front passenger side. That would still allow for easier curbside charging plus easier charging while towing since you can nose into position and not unhook or block stalls. The port placement for the R1 is excellent for charging while towing.
ОтветитьI LOVE almost everything about the R2. It really hits on everything that I like, especially the interior design (I love the Nordic aesthetic), but I still can’t get used to the headlamps. I really wish they’d be just a little bit more traditional.
Also, is the glass roof standard on all trims or do base versions come with a regular steel roof?
I'm really looking forward to the R3 personally, both look like excellent offerings in the EV space.
ОтветитьOverpriced, still has that UGLY AS HELL headlight design.
ОтветитьI sure hope Rivian is working to beef up the production lines since they won't be able to make the R2 fast enough. With the base battery being projected to get over 300 miles of range, it's a no brainer.
ОтветитьI have a kind of strange question. How tall are you? Just trying to get an understanding of just how short the vehicle his. Thanks for a great vid!
ОтветитьThis could screw Tesla
ОтветитьCan anyone confirm if this was easier to climb in and out of? I have a family member with a disability, and they have a hard time with the initial head room when entering the R1S.
ОтветитьWhy so many minders?😮…they should have started with these low cost vehicles and they would be in a better financial condition.
ОтветитьAnother minimalist/cheap looking interior for 50 thousand plus?
ОтветитьI also feel if they keep the price as it is, then bingo, it will be a hit, and It will allow for folks who really would like an Ev to enter the market. But will it have Apple play?
ОтветитьSuper super excited for the R2. Have put my deposit for the reservation down, planning on having this as my first ev
ОтветитьIt would be great if you compared this to something other than the model Y. What is it like compared to a CR-V or RAV4? Or is it bigger like a Passport? More ground clearance than a Jeep Wrangler?
ОтветитьLove this. Hope it’s priced right and sells well.
ОтветитьIt would be cool if they removed the front middle console and made the front seat a complete bench style seat. You would get way more room. Since that floor is not connected its really calling for it. It would be a nice option to have.
ОтветитьHow much cheaper would it be if the roof was metal instead of glass? I think I’m the minority on this point but it’s generally a deal breaker for me to have a full glass roof
ОтветитьEVs are already broken. Impractical and disposable. What an expensive and useless waste. 👎
ОтветитьI like it!
ОтветитьI much prefer the charge port on the driver's side, since most charging is done at home, and that would also make it compatible with the Tesla layout.
But your explanation for the passenger side is the first I've heard for that location.
So I guess I'd like to see EV mfrs offer dual charge ports to serve any situation.
2 years is a long time. With deliveries expected to be flat this year and I can also assume deliveries will be flat next year because a great deal of us will wait for the RS2 for one more year. Does Rivian have enough cash on hand to not be bankrupt? They really need to deliver this car by late 2025. More competition is coming from KiA and others which will only make it harder in 2026. I sure hope they can surprise us by delivering these cars in late 2025. I expect delivery for RS1 to also be flat next year.
ОтветитьLove this car. I decided to join Rivian to work on its L2 autonomous driving after R2 release.
ОтветитьRear wiper?
ОтветитьBuild me an R2T.
!
Ready in 2026 - History tells us it will be 2027, and in limited numbers.
ОтветитьI think I'll wait for the D2
ОтветитьI wonder if there will be a vehicle to load feature like the Ionic etc...
ОтветитьWrong ...wrong... and wrong. Too funny how so many people who can read a sales brchure can't read or refuse to take the time to read a company's financial statements ... or even a CEO, for that matter. Move over Milton ... make some room for Scarange.
ОтветитьAs usual, Alex's review is the best one. The camera work really made me feel like I was in the car with him and always so descriptive, mellifluous, smooth and fluid. Great job.
ОтветитьIf tax credits push in into the mid 30's it will be very competitive.
Ответить$45K would be very do-able and well worth it if all goes as they hope.
ОтветитьI really hope this will come to Europe. I will trade in my Volvo XC40 EV for this for sure!
ОтветитьThe dash gave me a BMW i3 vibe. 🥰
ОтветитьWell….2026 is long way off….how they will survive till then?
ОтветитьI don't even know why I'm here. This vehicle won't be out for another 2 years.
ОтветитьI wonder how much Rivian will lose for each R2 sold?
ОтветитьRJ and Frank, please provide some RWD trims at launch. I really cannot afford anything more than 45k and I am not waiting for R3. I am a 2021 & 2023 R1T quad owner through my parents (who have an EEAP vehicle as well). I am 23 year old college graduate that is currently employed by Rivian and living at home temporarily.
My configuration will be RWD. I understand that the more expensive ones (Dual + Tri) need to be prioritized for profit reasons. But RWD will be easier/quicker to manufacture. Also a lot of the markets that you will be successful in (especially in the beginning) are warm/non snow states. Those regions will be configuring RWD more and if the goal is to get as many in the market as possible, then maybe RWD should also get some prioritization too.
I put down deposits for many EV but ended up with a Tesla 3 and Tacoma truck. Tesla's my wife and I'm waiting for the right truck/suv that is midsized. The cybertruck overpromised and underdelivered. I also had Canoo as well but they are going under. The R3 looks so cool like the 90s hatchbacks I have but the R2 is the sweet spot for me.
ОтветитьNo Spare tire compartment?
ОтветитьMost people are waiting for "this EV is priced in the low $30,000."
High price is one of the reasons why I'm waiting to buy any EV.
Looks like an electric 4Runner. Count me interested. I’m not a fan of electronic door handles. I would much rather it be all mechanical
Ответить2027 car why now showing
Ответитьthat's it. I will switch our model Y with the R2. Can't wait until it comes up for sale.
ОтветитьLove it
ОтветитьIf the mid range models are over 70 there is no reason for it to exist. A model Y is FAR cheaper. If with mid range pack and dual motor is in the mid 60’s or higher Rivian will go bankrupt. Tesla will keep selling Model Y likes crazy and Rivian will die.
ОтветитьI think the charge port for the R2's sold in America should be the drivers side rear. There just isn't much curbside charging here, and most people will charge their R2 at home or at a Tesla Supercharger. If a car is going to have a NACS port, it needs to match Tesla's placement. For the European model they can put it on the passenger side rear, but for America is really should be on the driver's side rear.
ОтветитьThis is the first time I’ve seriously considered an EV. It looks absolutely perfect. I hope the base model isn’t too stripped down
ОтветитьThey're going to sell a ton of these.
