I go for the Hawks and while we are not performing our best like we did in say 2014 we are rebuilding our selves. Every great team goes through this.

Ill be real, couldn't care less about finals this szn tbh, would be a good step forward but more concerned over getting the right trades in and one more year of drafting this the last off szn for that in my eyes, need the Flag before 2030 to maintain flag in every decade. You could make an argument for any of Frost, scrimshaw, impey or hardwick leading our bnf rn and as defenders they should be proud of that shit, considering where they were not too long ago.

Cam Mackenzie is such a unique player, he reminds me of Mitchell and lewis. Not worried about anyone taking his spot because he's the best kick in our team along with Amon and Sicily.

Bad start was from Will Day absence and not having Weddle playing swing key, fixture made it really tough too for bottom side to get a top 4 ranked fixture is mental but we have a really versatile team now which was always what Sam was trying to build. Team doesn't need too many additions anymore via trade or draft and that's a good thing, just specific needs now and star talent I'd say the club should be targeting. Still players to come back from injury and pushing down the door at VFL level which is promising and exciting.

Got too love the passion love some of worpells bullet short passes into forwards. Hope thou as the young guys mature som of the show stops. We have tradi t finally had a bit more humility. Nit saying I don't like it's b cheeky side

Smart recruiting from Hawks. Massimo is great and has good disposal, got him cheaply. Mabior is getting on his bike, Gunners is back kicking goals. Ginnivan doing well. Nash is a bulldozer in the centre, mightn't get a lot of disposals, the opposition really earn theirs. Can really see the off season gym paying dividends as boys shrug or stand up in tackles to get a disposal away. Moore is going to another level. Day after 2 games back has been excellent. Doesn't mind putting the game face on to have a word when someone stuffs up. Hopefully CJ can stay fit, looking good. Mitch has been patient and hard. Meek and Scrimshaw spent fair few games in VFL until fixed flaws in their playing style. My advice, forget the basketball comparo. I had no idea or interest. Young Hawks starting to show good potential.

One thing that needs to be highlighted that wasn't mentioned probably the most important element is the emerging culture and fun identity the Hawks have now.

In the half time feedback from Mitch he mentioned about the focus being to "lift the energy and have fun" in the second half.

The week before he mentioned CJ, CMac, Ginni, Daysy and Dyl being the ratbags g'ing each other up.

Havent seen that since 2016 when we lost ALOT of our culture do to retirement or trading out

I think what Impey & Amon have been creating off the backline has been outstanding.

This along with what Moore, Ginnivan & CMAC have been doing with their work up the field and what they're doing with their running on a turnover has been nothing short of amazing.

Not to mention Will Day. He was the missing piece to our midfield group.

I feel we dont miss Lewis that much. Our forward line seems to mobile without him.

We have played some teams at the right time.

Classic Daz... couldn't see the forest through the trees. Rebuilding isn't a week to week business. Emotions can be cruel.

You do not need lots of stars you need a BALANCED team! A champion team will always beat a team of champions! If you can get a 3 stars and 10 a gradees and 10 b graders playing as a TEAM/SYSTEM full of BELIEF and CONFIDENCE you win cups! And thats ADZACTLY what sam is doing! And the fact sam train's with the team he has a huge connection with them! He does not stand in the middle of waverly with a whistle thats ratts he is in the drills! What other coach does that! NONE! He is part of the team not just coaching it thats why he is in the song! He has figured if you i be part of training the boys will connect with him and if sam can do it i can! And i say wardy will be a to b grader wiz a grader huss a b grader and there nursing chadd and midda this season to have them fresh for next year! They will get battle he was a one eyed hawk as a kid and baily! So add to current team battle mitch lewis baily smith chadd wiz wardy! Then following year they make biggest contract in afl history to get reid from eagles!! And more free agents!! See how close i am to being right! Go the mighties!!

Good watch mate.. Meeks flicked the switch, the bighorse has been brilliant. I think hes been a big part of the turnaround also. Hopefully hes back this weekend

Josh battle and bailey smith really round us off and would be silly not to come across. If we can get smith with our future first and take one last high pick that would be super exciting watching box hill this weekend was almost more fun then watching the seniors the depth is really building having watson do those things 😮‍💨. Also really important for ward and hustwaite to keep developing they will still be important parts of the future this year has shows the impact of injuries and it will be the team that just has next man in line steps up. Was our team a bit Lewis-centric? Like we used to be Buddy-centric. Without them we found multiple other avenues to goal.

RUNNING Without stats to back it up, the Hawks (visually) seem to be using thier fitness to run in support of their ball users; then they seem able to run in waves the other way to pressure the opposition when they have it. Earlier in the season we just looked stagnant, hesitant and unsure.
