This camera is the A7R5 of the aps-c lineup of cameras. Been setting up the camera to shoot bees in action on my shrub. Took a while, made a number of errors, more like not paying attention to my settings. Now this beast locks on bees and tracks them as they dart around. Getting lots of great sharp hits. Surprisingly the lens I am using for this task is the 90mm 2.8 macro lens. Not only is it fast in focusing, but it is also razor sharp. It makes the a6700 sensor shine even more. I think as people get used to the tiny body, they will appreciate not having to lug a heavy FF body around. It is so small that people will not notice it, allowing you to take pictures with no one noticing.

Good introductory video, but disappointing the side articulation of the screen; I expected in this A6700 and in the new A7CR that it would be like the A7RV. It has also lost 30% battery life compared to the A6600 and gets hotter. It's not for me. I will wait with my current A6500 for a model with global shutter...

Longtime Canon user trying to learn how to do the basics on my new a6700. Just had a breakthrough. The trash can turns touch screen on and off when you are in the photo mode. I haven't watched a lot of the video yet Looking forward to watching the rest of it after my big break through.

Don’t waste your time with this camera unless you just want to take pictures. It’s a heating brick with not a single vent.

I was wondering if you would make a video specifically creating settings for indoor outdoor and sports or even video settings at a beginner level using the 123 on the dial. while explaining your thought process on changing the iso/aperture and the shutter speed? it would be insanly helpful.

For 30 years I've been shooting with film or with a camcorder form-factor so when I picked up this little Sony sweetheart I was overwhelmed by the myriad of new options. That new dial for photo, video and s&q is great. Does the memory saves the settings separately for foto and video? For example your taking photos in raw 3:2 ratio and the you quickly change to video and automatically changes to your video settings let’s say pp10 slog2 16:9 ? I hope I made myself clear, I’m really curious about this.

Excellent - your videos are so good! I had an a6700 briefly a couple of weeks ago, but it was defective and had to send it back for an exchange. The replacement is scheduled for delivery tomorrow. With the timelapse feature, can you set the output to 4K? It looked like it when you were showing the settings, but I couldn't tell for sure. Looking forward to more tips on this camera!

Great starter guide. Many thanks for posting. Slightly disappointing that the panorama function has been dropped from A6700. That was a fun and convenient mode on the older models. Hopefully Sony add it back in a future firmware update.

battery on charge but just got the sony a6700,,,, took few shots in my living room low light .. no card yet ..wow .. its a killer..put the sony 70 350 on full zoom wide open 50 sec auto iso..the zip on my suit case looks nearly macro ...

Hi Jason, I just wanted to say thank you, I bought my camera in japan because I live here but I didnt know sony just include japanese language in this country.
So thanks to your video I was able to configurate my camera and figure out where things are.

Just a note. The A6600 viewfinder cover does NOT work on the A6700. Also no charger in the 6700 package, and the A6600 screen protectors will NOT work on the 6700, but the A7IV will work on the 6700.

Great but if im shooting things like vases, flowers... what mode do i put the camera in?
