I don’t AGREE because of James 2:23-24 that needs to be discussed!!!
ОтветитьAmen
ОтветитьExcellent! A proper interpretation of James Chapter 2! Well done Bob!
Ответитьyou are wrong dear brother
ОтветитьThanks for the help, God bless you 🙏❤️✝️
ОтветитьWhy did you leave out verses 21-26.? They don't exactly fit your explanation.
21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?
26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
What happens when you have people who are mentally ill and they are draining you dry. Is there a limit to charity and turning the other cheek?
ОтветитьSo this man is saying you are save but not profitable... doesn't make sense...
ОтветитьMore bunk that seeks to make the Bible say what it does not say.
These teachers "are blots and blemishes, reveling in their deceptions, while they feast with you. 14They have eyes full of adultery, insatiable for sin. They entice unsteady souls. They have hearts trained in greed. Accursed children! 15Forsaking the right way, they have gone astray. They have followed the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved gain from wrongdoing, 16but was rebuked for his own transgression; a speechless donkey spoke with human voice and restrained the prophet’s madness.
17These are waterless springs and mists driven by a storm. For them the gloom of utter darkness has been reserved. 18For, speaking loud boasts of folly, they entice by sensual passions of the flesh those who are barely escaping from those who live in error. 19They promise them freedom, but they themselves are slavesh of corruption. For whatever overcomes a person, to that he is enslaved. 20For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first. 21For it would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than after knowing it to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them. 22What the true proverb says has happened to them: “The dog returns to its own vomit, and the sow, after washing herself, returns to wallow in the mire.” 2 Peter 2
Vers 24:Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
That is the most irritating verse and you forgot to mention and explain it. James seems not to talk about profit or good effects here, but directly about justification and salvation. Can you explain that? I am really struggling with this passage. I mean: Whats left of Christianity if that sentence is true?
The greatest works one can give Hashem is to have the faith not to worry when Hasatan is surrounding .
The peace of God that surpasses all understanding.
Nope!
ОтветитьAmen
ОтветитьThank you bob God bless you 🙏
ОтветитьAmen! Thank you for this video! Praise God! 🎉
ОтветитьWhy don't we look at the entire letter to get perspective? Why pull off a few sentences?
James refers to faith in the Jewish Shema, not faith in Christ's blood atonement.
Amen.
ОтветитьSuch an edifying channel, thank you brother!
ОтветитьGod bless u brother
ОтветитьAmen, refreshing to see the right interpretation of james 2.
Ответитьdont let out the cross, believing that jesus exist doesnt save you, to believe, that he died for all you sins and his payment saved you, his shed blood, u trust in that along to get in heaven
ОтветитьIt can’t be “good for nothing” if it still gets us into heaven!?
ОтветитьI love you brother
ОтветитьBrother Wilkin,
Always appreciate truthful expository teaching that is concise, straightforward and backed with scripture.
However, the deference to Greek words leads many to believe that their Bible has something lacking.
Did the translators of the KJV not get it correct?
Were the parchments and transcripts they used not accurate or viable?
Makes sense, otherwise Romans is a contradiction.
ОтветитьThankye Bob! From Denver NC
ОтветитьVery biblical... Amen
ОтветитьJames and Paul are on the exact same page.
Ephesians 2:8-9
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—
Faith is a gift from God granted to those who have repented first.
9not by works, so that no one can boast.
Our works we've done regardless of how noble or much (Outside of Christ) are as filthy rags in God's eyes.
Paul makes clear that we are to do works in Christ Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Jesus says we are to do works (bear fruit) in His name.
John 15:1-6
Matthew 10:8
Matthew 28:19
John 14:12
And More.
James and Paul are on the exact same page.
Acts 26:20
But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God,(Believe) and do works meet for repentance.
Show your faith through your works (actions)
James 2:14 What doth it profit,my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
James 2:17-19
Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
18Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 19Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
James 2:21-24
Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? 22Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? 23And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. 24Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
Without works Abraham's faith would have been meaninglessThat is why Jesus and Paul say to repent first then with faith believe.
To believe is faith produced by repentance of sin.
Thank you very much for this. God bless you.
ОтветитьJESUS SAYS YOU ARE WRONG John 14:12 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.
ОтветитьDEAD FAITH MEANS "NO" FAITH. YOU CAN'T INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN WITHOUT IT.
Ответитьthis is how i understand it...
This passage in James is written to Christians to encourage them to do good works which will make their faith mature and profitable to them and to others. There is no contradiction between James and Paul. When Paul speaks of justification through faith alone, he is speaking of judicial righteousness before God. When James speaks of justification by a faith that works, he is speaking of a practical righteousness displayed before other people. In Romans 3-5, Paul is discussing how to obtain a new life in Christ. In James, James is discussing how to make that new life profitable.
i rerly on these videos so much . LOVE G>E>S
ОтветитьWell I got to tell you there pastor you're a prideful individual and you just do not realize it. It never was faith alone.
ОтветитьThank you for this.
💙🎁♥️🙏
Amen pastor Bob
ОтветитьWhat is there in the context that makes one conclude "save" is only referring to the physical and not spiritual?
Ответить
