Whoops. Forgot to mention the location. This is at Glacier National Park in Montana.
The trees in the back were burned down in a (likely human caused) fire from 2015.

Let me know if you have any questions about the Prop Trading industry. I’ve worked at three different shops over a 15yr career and seen many highs and lows. I also have many friends across the well known shops as well as smaller spin-off shops where traders left to recreate their strategies but keep 100% of their profits or joined up with financial backers to agree on splits like 50/50 profit split between traders and backers.
Great. So everyone should be a quant. Good idea. Who needs doctors anyway. Please tell all those really smart people doing medicine to do something really intelligent for themselves and be quants.
Ответитьthose nostrils have seen some slopes
ОтветитьI was so excited to hear how he pivoted from a nonfinance role into quant. Then I heard "masters at UPenn" and lost all hope.
ОтветитьI was the 68th employee of Jump. Miss it every day. Good luck!
ОтветитьAt least there are no mosquites around and he picked a nice location!
ОтветитьI think the retirement crisis will get even worse. A lot of people can’t save because of low paying jobs, inflation, and insane rental rates. And now that home ownership is out of reach for middle class Americans, they won’t have a house to retire with either.
ОтветитьWhere’s Doobie? Oops, wrong channel.
ОтветитьDo you have any advice for getting into the industry? I'm in CS at a no-name university outside America and I thought that I was going to go into traditional software eng, which is why I kind of stopped taking my grades seriously so my GPA has dropped to around 3.7 (I think that's the 4.0 equivalent, it'd be an A- average for me). I think I'd be better suited for the engineer position, if I was to ever get into the field, but I heard that the traders get paid much more. Would I need to pursue a masters/PhD in order to get a trader position or should I just pursue the quant dev position instead?
Ответитьyou think its a crazy industry cause youre witnessing the biggest bull run of the last decade, dont think this will always be like this
Ответитьlol my previous employer was Lockheed and now im a data scientist shooting to become a quant in a year
Ответитьbro u doing too much cocaine
ОтветитьCurious about the potential of AI and how it will affect all of this.
ОтветитьI see what you are doing…. Still fascinating though, great stuff
ОтветитьThe issue of this kind of mindset is the complete lack of morality.
ОтветитьAny advice how to get into this industry?
Ответитьhuh this was a random video recommendation for me, I don't know if you should be proud of 'scalping' the market indefinitely without creating value, I guess it's good to get out of trouble but yeah, that's just my opinion mate.
Ответитьgreed is why the world is failing... and you rightfully identified the right industry to join to contribute to it...
ОтветитьI feel like the idea of scalping people for profit sounds good. But you have to compromise your ethics and morals - sell your soul essentially. I appreciate the candor but the underlying tone through your experience is an extreme jadedness about reality. Which is often something you find when you talk to anyone who leaves the trading/IB space - they have money but they don't feel engaged in anything. To them, anything and everything in the world has a price - and when you're so rich, why wouldn't it? You would think all these guys who make 10k a day would retire and be happy - NOPE. Why do you think? Their lives are empty. "Its hard to have 2k worth of fun in a day" is an incredibly poisoned way of living your life.
ОтветитьI thought you were Joma for a second
ОтветитьAny resources you would recommend that helped you transition from software engineering into this?
ОтветитьWhat's your opinion on AI and quant trading?
ОтветитьWHat was your major?
ОтветитьGreat insight
Could you please speak about how hard it is to get in, what kind of backgrounds they hire from ?
Fire vid
Ответитьi dont know what 'quant' trading is.but it sounds like something for people who don't believe in Bitcoin
ОтветитьLike someone else said I thought this one was the neurosurgeon, lol, they look alike!
ОтветитьGoobie’s OP. Love this channel. Both channels seem refreshingly honest responses to the harsh reality of corporate overlords.
ОтветитьIf you were 16 right now what would you do.
Ответитьwhat a bullshit video
ОтветитьHold on ..Lockheed Martin Christmas party was bring your own dinner?
Ответить"Smartest guy I know", "Super VIP member" at the clubs spending $30k a month there. Yeah, totally tracks!

Ответитьyear 2024 Dec , buy healthcare insurance stocks it's a panic . Also sell bitcoin
ОтветитьQuant trader or proprietary trader? Aren’t these different roles? Proprietary trading not same vigor as quant roles.
ОтветитьGreetings Lit Nomad, I am getting a lot of value from your videos. Your way of thinking about life and personal satisfaction make a lot of sense to me. I have some questions I was hoping you could give me your thoughts on, and if you have discussed this in other videos I have yet to watch I apologize. You discuss how Quant trading is one of the most efficient income streams. So, my question is, what is the base level of capabilities one needs to get into this profession? Also, in your opinion, what are some other highly efficient ways earning money without the skills and knowledge that you possess? I work as an analyst, so I am proficient with spreadsheets, various software systems, and statistical analysis (somewhat), but I lack a coding or engineering /hardcore mathematical background. I am trying to figure out what is worth my time to pursue with the skills and abilities I currently posses, but there is alot of noise out there. So, I am hoping others more experienced than myself can help me sift through the BS. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
ОтветитьBro is on that Morally Bankrupt speedrun.
ОтветитьVillain typo Job
Ответитьyo bro sorry if this is late or already answered, how realistic do you think expecting to be able break in after working in an adjacent industry (say elec eng or software) is, after a while like you did?
Im currently a cs student at a decent aus university and most of my friends have hopped on quant trading at places like jane street and optiver, i just feel dumb like i've missed out on something. My grades are nowhere near as good as theirs either, cause i was slacking. You reckon my best chances are just to try pivot from elsewhere? I don't think i'd be able to get as much academic credentials as them any time soon unless i really dedicate myself to it so i'm kinda lost. I want to get into this just for the fucking money ill be real. feels less soulless than other corp jobs available for me. Might be short sighted but one thing i know for sure i might have fucked myself with my degree choice and effort levels.
Ill tell my kids, this was seong gi hun (squid game)😹
Ответитьyou have hella sauce and knowledge bro, as a retail trader im growing and trading exactly how your teaching
ОтветитьFrom missiles making to predatory gambling, you must be a person of very high ethics.
ОтветитьWhy do you need a human to do this job? If there ever was a job for a computer to do better than a human, this is it.
