What about two mated queens or what I’ve heard deemed “sister queens” who are both allowed to work together in one hive

I wonder if the hive recognizes they have two queens 🫅🏼 or they just allow it to happen

I think the two Queens happens way more than Beekeeper’s realize it’s just common sense for the bees to not be so quick to kill a queen and bees are really smart, so I think they’re more organized about how they go about things

More common than we realise. Why not make a split with the Virgin? Lower risk I would have thought? Thanks for the video, very cool.

You should look at Vino Farms, they had an instance of two queens for around 6 moths. One laying in a lower box, one in an upper one.

Amazing! It's always so fascinating and soothing to the soul to observe the cycle and rhythm of nature.

Yes sir, this does happen more often than we think. Definitely not uncommon for two queens to be living in the same colony for a short time anyway. Thanks for sharing.

How is it that the second Queen isn't hunted down and killed by the older one, or by the Bees themselves?

I have no idea what is wrong with the sound, but I can't hear you at all. And it's not my device, I looked at it on my computer, phone and kindle and the only way I can barely hear you is with an external speaker. Even then, it's much lower in volume than your vids usually are...

Having said that, Emmy something and I kicking myself because I can't remember the name of her channel, just checked her hives and there was a double queen hive and the queens were actually on the same frame and they were only inches apart.
At Vino Farms, he also had a double queen hive, but only one queen made it through the winter.
There are a couple beek vloggers that have shown us double queen hives. Like you said, it probably happens far more often than we realize. Especially since once a beek finds the queen.. They stop looking and if the queen isn't marked, they assume the old queen swarmed.

I'm a firm believer in marking queens and keeping journals on my hives.

Do you keep all of your queens until they die off? Or replace them at a certain age?
