I was eight and saw the match race live.

I was teaching english riding at Clark Air Base at that time. I watched that race, and saw Ruffian break down. I don't think I've ever seen a more tragic horse race than the great Ruffian's last race.

Still remember that day my father was excited it was unlike any other day at the for me CRYING

Ruffian would have won by a mile. I was there that sad day. 😢

Long live the queen. For an unknown story glad I got to hear her story. Thank you.

I’m tired of waiting, I want a Zenyatta movie now! Ruffian was obviously an all time great but the idea that it is she who is the greatest female racehorse ever is silly. Zenyatta still holds the crown. Now who knows what might have happened in her career had she not died so early but as it stands Ruffian isn’t #1 and it is only older peoples biased distant memories of how they felt then that has her ever being on top.

So easy to Fall in Love with a horse and when you do they stay in your heart and soul forever. I know I have loved and lost.

Lotsa cruelty in the sports. Ill remember fondly my Thoroughbred rescued young from that life, but got to run for fun.

I cried so much during this movie. It broke my heart to see her think she was still running. She was one of the best horses out their and sadly her career was ended shortly and everything that life held for her in the future. May she gallop in the fields of horsey heaven for eternity. RIP Ruffian 💔❤️‍🩹❤️
