The war has been lost though too late. Russia ate Ukraine's best forces at Bakhmut with their shady forces. Avdiivka Ukraine learned but the damage had been done in the bloodbath at Bakhmut, best Ukrainian troops were lost for a town which may have been preserved for tipping point battles. Sad state of affairs for Ukraine and their brutal fight for existence.

Recruiting from prisons is nothing new. Even the US Army does it during peacetime, though a waiver is usually required. It is good to see there are many safeguards in Ukraine. Not recruiting sex offenders and murderers is a very sensible idea-- which is drastically different from how Wagner did it. And it is also a good idea to not use them-- or anyone-- as "disposable infantry".

Wasn’t it just a few months ago that the West made fun of Russia for doing this exact thing? 😂 Russia wisely had this idea while they currently recruit 30,000 soldiers per month. Ukraine is doing this out of desperation.

I would like this “journalist” to cite his sources for his allegation that Russia isn’t training their convicted recruits and that they are rushing them to the frontlines. These western journalists of ours are garbage propagandists that have been wrong time after time about Russia and this war.

I still remember when russians capture like 5 or 6 Ukraines that were recruit from prisons and all of them were rapes and the russians said " now we see who they sent to kursk they want to ##### you #### the ukrainians would have probably even thank us for doing that"
