I noticed that Hutch said that Olethra is “in charge of her gender,” which implies that she’s a trans woman. I went to the wiki to confirm, and it’s true!!! It’s so amazing that there’s a trans female character in dimension 20 (that I know of), it makes me feel so seen.

There are SO MANY Good moments, but I was so ensorcelled by the story that I didnt pause to comment!! I love everything about this!!

I am a big fan of Dimension 20 and always enjoyed that they created fantasy worlds with diversity in mind. However, the character of Marya gave me pause… This character with a distinctly Slavic accent from an island of scrap where people are brutish and only occasionally produce half smiles felt a lot like an ethnic stereotype. For me this association spoiled the episode, which was very entertaining otherwise.
