I used to love this show. Mayhem said they "didn't really question the stories that were sent to them, but the fights were 100% real". Most of the "bullies" were young actors wanting attention and cash, and their victims were often just their friends. But that look of fear in the eyes in the cage is completely legit and valid

I think the monkey thing is a Fight Club reference. In the movie, they referred to themselves as Space Monkies. Numbers because “there are no names in Fight Club”I could be wrong, but maybe that sheds some light on why he picked that name.
