Miyoo Mini Review

Is this still the best version? I'm looking for something with a headset/earbuds plug. Where can I find a games list? I'm aiming for Mario, Zelda, Pokemon and Resident Evil.

How was your experience with the Pokémon games? Did you find trading and completing the Dex handy?

Would love an Arcade Emulator to play 80s / 90s games like:

Chase HQ
Afterburner
Ninja Turtles
Out Run
Robocop
Green Beret
Operation Wolf
Operation Thunderbolt

The Vita from a decade ago had a quad-core A9 with 512MB RAM. The Miyoo Mini has a dual-core A7 with 128MB. You can buy a Vita cheaper than a second-hand Miyoo Mini. It’s absolute madness.

Headphone jacks should be on top. They get in the way of your hands on the bottom.

A handheld that could take bumps, scratches, that line literally made me laugh out loud. If you go on the subreddit 4 the mini you will see people have cracked at the screen by dropping it onto a carpeted floor from 3 ft. It is the one of the most delicate handhelds you will ever own and has been compared to a glass ornament in durability.

I doubt anyone is still watching this 9 month old video, but when I click the link to buy it says not available but I've found an "updated" version is it legit? I've wanted one of these for quite a while but I've been on the fence about it

Can this run superFX chips? Games like starfox tend to be a problem for these units.

I like how the Miyoo Mini looks. And I'd love to get one. But before I found this, I was already looking up a lot about the Retroid Pocket 2+. I already know what the Retroid can emulate for the most part. I was already looking forward to running Dreamcast and stuff on it. And surprisingly to some, I was also looking forward to getting a good Android frontend set up with boxart and everything. I know myself, and I know I'd end up just being disappointed if I got the Miyoo. It looks great, and it's cheaper than the Retroid, but I've also seen videos of how it has issues running PS1 sometimes, and can't do Dreamcast and Saturn very well. I'd also be worried how it'd handle MAME, especially some of the more intensive CAVE shmups.

Like, if I heard about this first, I probably would have jumped to get it. It has that vertical Game Boy shape that I like, it runs pretty much anything from 16-bit consoles and under just fine, runs a lot of PS1 games just fine. I appreciate the ability to adjust contrast and saturation to get it to look just how I want. I even like the UI, it looks simple. BUT, I saw the Retroid first, and I know damn well if I end up getting anything that runs less than the Retroid Pocket 2+ does, it'll just nag at me that I could have gotten the more powerful handheld instead.

And that's not knocking the Miyoo. It looks like a good handheld, and if all you need is 2D games with the occasional PS1 game tossed in, this would probably be great for you. But me, I just want to be able to emulate as much as I possibly can on one device (without spending hundreds of dollars), and the Retroid seems like the best bet for that.

The Miyoo would be a step up from emulating on my PS Vita (which, mind you, kinda sucks at emulation despite everyone praising it). But it'd be a step down from the Retroid. A good middle ground though for people that want it.

Now, what I'd love to get? Something on par with the Retroid Pocket 2+, but built to the size and feel of a Game Boy Color. I don't need my handheld to be the size of a post-it note like some of them. I also don't want something massive like some others. A GBC is like, the perfect size and shape for me. But I haven't seen one that's just that yet. I'd like to see the RP3 get a vertical design. Or even a new Anbernic with the power of a RP2+ with the vertical design.

If these hand held games had the newer pixel games they would be sold out in a second. To name a few : Celeste, jumpking, eastward,Deadcells ,shovel knight , blasphemous,undertale,axiom verge, stardew valley. 80 percent of these games are under 2gb. And the SD cards that can fit the devices should hold all of them easily. Their device resolution n graphics look amazing already as well.. just imagine in a year or two what they can do with these cheap pocket game systems
