The absolute hardest part to me is learning the language of anything that im trying to learn. 3rd 5th n 7th arpeggios roots ect.. can you or have you made a video on mysic theory or at least the language (meaning of these words) . Thanks! 😊

I can't beat willysunday but I have just bought a bass and practice amp at the age of 65, no intention of joining a band/group or whatever but playing for the pleasure of learning to make beautiful sounds with it. I guess it's not a big deal but it would've been sort of nice if you had shown these songs in their standard keys. Again not a huge deal the main thing us to get playing something but if you're jamming with others, or playing along w recordings, beginners aren't good at transposing so it's nice to do certain songs in certain keys.

Being mathematically challenged, I always zone out when instruction videos start going "2nd string first fret, 4th string 5th fret" etc. My mind just can't retain it. I'm giving this a try though, as there are some really good songs on this list.

you should play with a pick

I played bass (upright) in high school. After high school I took up bass guitar but never played it seriously. Now in my 81st year I have taken it up as it is easy to practice backing up songs I like. I like the way Mark presents chords and syncopation. He is a great teacher!

As a seasoned drummer and now learning to play guitar, I'm finding the guitar harder when changing chords, so I'm thinking of switching to bass as you seem to only need to notes rather than chords, is this the case? No bar chords?

He kept telling me "right, dad" so I'm here showing him it can be done. Everybody kept telling me I was crazy, but it's such a stress-reliever! & I'm putting my money where my mouth is!
