In this video, I put the Ampace JP40 and Molicel P42A cells to the ultimate test, aiming to draw 140A using five 0.01 ohms resistors connected in parallel. Although I didn't quite reach the target, I achieved an impressive 108A in a single cell with the JP40, with the voltage holding at 3.55V under load. That’s a power output of approximately 383.4 Watts!
It took 50.77 seconds for the JP40 to reach 50°C.
On the other hand, the Molicel P42A under load achieved a maximum of 78A, with a starting voltage of 2.3V under load, generating 179.4 Watts. It reached 50°C in less than 38 seconds.
Throughout the test, I monitored key parameters using a Fluke 87V to track temperature, a TrueRMS clamp meter for current, a DC Internal Resistance FUNSI tester, a multimeter for voltage, and an ATORCH digital shunt. Watch as I push these cells to their limits to see how they perform under extreme conditions.
