On the fiber bacteria note fibers topology is primarily the resaon it's such a good thing for your gut it acts as a arc and food its "fiber " or tube surface area allows a wide area for the bacteria to live eat and do its thing so I think that's pretty cool

I hate videos like this that make broad statements that are obviously false. Supplements are no different than any other product, there are excellent ones and worthless ones. It's up to you to first determine (through biomarker testing) whether or not you need to supplement. Then you have to do extensive research to determine the best product for what you need. I know for a fact that supplements can help resolving health issues because they have done so for me. I have stopped ALL prescription medications thanks to a few carefully selected supplements and lifestyle changes. This guy is such a clickbait clown that he doesn't even realize that the quality of our food has been sinking for decades due to depleted soil and the horrors of factory farming. It is quite literally impossible to get all the nutrients you need to be healthy from food, unless you grow your own food on fortified soil, and even then you'd likely still have some nutrient gaps. This idiot has no idea what he's talking about and it's a shame that so many people in these comments believe he does.

My main dislike of AG1 is if you go by the ingredient list, soy lecithin is the 2nd most ingredient in the product. It's fatty acid composition is 70% or so Omega 6 a polyunsaturated fat that is known as inflammatory causing free radical damage. Many nutritionist's now agree to avoid seed oils/vegetable oils, bean oils in one's diet as these are of the highest of the processed foods.

Eating healthy, natural foods is important. But this is pretty slanderous to AG1 in my opinion. You’re attributing malice to them as if they’re trying to purposefully mislead people. I’ve never heard AG1 say that you shouldn’t eat well or that their supplement allows you to eat bad foods and still be healthy. They are a business, which means their job is to advertise their products and show their benefits. They’re not evil because they created a great product, advertise it fairly, and then informed people make the decision with their own free will to spend their hard-earned money to purchase it.

Okay so this video didn't tell me anything I don't already know. And spent most of the time shaming people who are too busy to get proper nutrition. Like sure nice wake up call to those spending way too much on supplements but it doesn't help the rest of us. The people working 2+ jobs to make ends meet with no extra time for meal prepping or no spare cash for buying any food but rice and means or bread and peanut butter. Or people like me who are disabled. Where cooking always comes at the cost of pain on top of the financial struggle. Can we just stop shaming convenience culture for a moment and realize that the system we have is broken as hell and people need it to survive? That half of convenience culture is just accessibility advancements. Yeah if you don't need it don't take it but for f**ks sake stop shaming those of us who are looking for some way to improve our lives that won't come at the cost of time or abilities we don't have.

Very torn on thsi video.
On the one hand I agree wholesome food and exercise are paramount but supplements have a place.

AG1? Now i think its junk. Probiotics are mininal and should be from food. I like Kefir which has a plethora of probiotics and much much higher concentrations.

Two of the main ingredients are spurlina and chlorella, which are great. Especially the latter.
AG1 does neither in sufficient quantities.
I take chlorella daily and its superb. Mostly for the chlorophyll and CGH. These two are key.

Committing to eating real, whole unprocessed food can be daunting. It can get expensive, even when you don't go for the highest quality organic, locally grown/raised options. Then there is the whole issue of cooking. Many are a generation or more away from families that actually cooked from such ingredients. This results in a cart load of raw ingredients for healthy meals that rot in the fridge because looking at them doesn't suggest a delicious meal that can be assembled in the time and energy available. Anyway, thanks for the integrity of burning a lucrative sponsor ;)

I literally never noticed any difference in any aspect of my existence when i tried any supplement/s... I tried a few over the decades, but its all been like adding flour to water - just some gross mix that does nothing for you... I do have to say that i do cook, i almost never eat out, i have a greenhouse in the yard and an orchard, so there`s that, and that could be enough to supply me with anything... I also love fish, and cheese, so that also factors in some of the rare nutritional bits that most other foods dont have, indian nuts and pistachios aswell are quite adored in my house, so yeah, its not that i eat garbage and the supplements offset my 0 intake to some artificial level, but i know that i cant be having a 100% perfect intake, and truth be told, i literally never eat with nutrition in mind... I only cook and eat and drink what pleases me... I also never drink water... I have not had a glass of water in last well over 12 years... Its coffee, tea, ice tea(home made good tea from the fridge), lemonade, watermelon(i know, its a solid, but come on, tell that to my bladder) or some other home brewed juice, like blackcurrant, raspberry and such... So yeah, again, i dont eat shit, but i dont ``eat healthy``, i just eat and drink what i want to taste... Not once has any supplement caused a change for the better, nor for worse really, but i find them to be utter waste of money...
And yeah, i never concern myself with food as in nutrition, not regarding sugar, fat or any other nonsense... if im making caramelized onions or an omelette, i will use a ton of butter... If im making a salad, it aint going to be a drizzle of olive oil... If im making a coffee or tea, its going to be sugar, as my grandma says - until its enough... If that means 5 spoons of sugar in a 500ml cup of coffee or tea, so be it, tho i use 5 spoons for 500ml coffee and 3.5 spoons for same volume of tea... I guess that not drinking store bought drinks and eating ready made food majorly offsets my intake of sugar, fat and other shit, but still, i am thin as a branch, and have 0 health issues, other than a bad back, but that is another thing entirely...

I will only give one example of a good supplement effect, and that is when i was a kid... I was having flaking fingernails, just delaminating in places, nothing disgusting, but enough to cause me to talk to my mother about it, who then took me to the family doctor, who then recommended Vitamin K supplement, it came in animal shaped pills and tasted like garbage, sweet but disgusting garbage... That helped, in a few days my fingernails went back to normal, and since then, i have not had the need for any vita. K supplementation... I guess it was a growth spurt or some other kid related issue caused by the developmental period and higher than normal needs for some things during the period...
So there`s that, a single time i had actually noticed the benefit, but it was to literally offset a sudden deficiency that started manifesting symptoms...

Supplements are just that. Supplements. They even say it on the bottle. It should not replace a health balanced diet. Some people for a variety of reasons may not be able to get some nutrients or minerals from their food. In this case supplements are fine.

Really bad video. I am somebody who started thinking about Nutrition more and I don't take those supplements. One really easy way of getting a better nutrition is adding supplements if you are lag it. There are great studies about just taking multivitamins (normal dosed) with good diets and they see a statistically significant health increase. For instance:
Multivitamins in the prevention of cancer and cardiovascular disease: the Cocoa Supplement and Multivitamin Outcomes Study (COSMOS) randomized clinical trial.

Saying supplements are a scam cause supplement Companies say it's making you more healthy is wrong depending on the supplements. I saw no company that promotes there supplements as a be all and end all to your health. ( if yes it's a scam)
Different supplements have shown good results in different health related studies. So saying supplements are a scam is just clickbait for people like me who will argue against it. Like me. And it may lead to people not getting important nutrients if they take your word as the be all and end all. So this video is a Scam as much as Supplements are a scam. Only if you misunderstood the meaning of the words said. The video is of course not a scam, it just not a good argument. If you say most or some Supplements are a Scam that may be more true. I would like to see examples of AG1 promoting this as the only thing you need for health or the Video is just Clickbait and has no Value.
I am for healthy dieting and not generalizing.

So, with the immense amount of life experience you have being over age 23 and all, you have come to the conclusion that supplements are a waste of money and bad for your health. Who's paying you to say this? The same people that brought you the vaccines you didn't need? (with life-threatening side effects I might add).
I think we should check back in with you at age 70 and see if you were right.

I think if you get stupid busy, its a great idea but really, just blending a multigreens with a banana and some protein of some sort is the jam on smoothies. Athletic greens would probably be good for me if I am out on the road and cannot get anything green on the road. If you have the extra cash, its just insurance on your health.

She gets a lot of playtime and a lot of quality parent time and a lot of outside. Are these smoothies that she loves not beneficial to her overall health filling in the gaps where I lack?

Funny thing is, AG1 and others like it are roughly $1.50-$3/day, that is a hell of a lot better and cheaper than any McDonalds or Starbucks habit, but let's attack supplements instead. Let people add up how much it costs per month to consume unnecessary calories that do harm, that is the real scam. Drink your 50 calorie green powder instead, it acts as an appetite suppressant, costs less, and won't push you closer to later life comorbidities. As for whether you will benefit from them, well they at least won't harm you.🙃

You seem to be talking pretty much exclusively about broad supplements, like Athletic Greens, which are meant to give a lot of the nutrients you supposedly need... and not specific supplements like the Magnesium Glycinate I take because I get muscle cramps almost daily if I don't, mainly in my legs. Now, would I still be better off getting magnesium from food? Yes. If I knew what food(s) I could consume and wasn't such a picky eater, I might consider that. But it's simply not viable for me, so I take very specific pills. They give me the 1 thing I need most to combat 1 specific issue. And believe me, going from almost daily muscle cramps to like 2 a month, if that? It's a MASSIVE benefit.
