Well, guess they can't retrieve the saucer here like Geordi La Forge did with the Enterprise-D on Veridian III. Looks like a complete write off for the 1701 here.

I was going to meet Anton Yelchin at a convention in Cincinnati many years ago. Chekov is one of my favorite characters to date. Unfortunately he passed away before the convention happened. Damn sad and a horrible loss of a humble and sweet actor.

The Enterprise was always going to protect her crew. Even watching it in the cinema, I couldn't help but hope that the saucer section was intact enough to return to space. It was false hope of course.

What is it with USS labelled ships being either A] Unexpected forces of destruction or B] Straight revenge machines? Seriously! First the USS Missouri in the battleship now USS Enterprise.

Chekov: "Sir if you miss --"
Kirk: "I'M NOT GONNA MISS! COME ON!"

There is no way Kirk and Chekov could've run from the centre of the saucer where they landed to the edge in 10 seconds. The saucer is MASSIVE!

It's a good thing that Kirk and Chekov graduated The Prometheus School Of Running Away From Things. Otherwise they would be dead for sure.

StarFleet has really got to reposition the bridge as an internal component, and stick a phaser on top of the Saucer. It's too easy to break the viewscreen, even on a Sovereign class…

To see the Enterprise so ill-used is just a travesty.

One thing I love about the new movies is that they give a real-world scale comparison. You don't have to do much guess work about the inner workings because you can go from a hallway, through a hole in the hull, to the outside all in the same shot and really appreciate the magnificence in engineering - even for a fictional space craft!

Lesson: If an individual causes a starship to perish because of a bogus deal, that same starship will return for said individual.

ok so little puny lasers could breach the view screen like car glass for them to jump through, and where are the thrusters getting their fuel from after all that structural damage, fuel lines severed etc.

Even in death, the Enterprise will always protect her Captain and crew from enemies trying to kill them. What a lady!

Why can a guy that hit a small round thruster at that distance yet miss a 6'5" 240lbs humanoid in a narrow hallway?
