Just wanted to address some of your concerns :)
So with this detail, we ONLY had that one day to do it, and we worked over 10 hours on what you see in the video so we could surprise the owner with it. There is a great chance there are more mice in the car that we didn’t get to but we spoke to the owner off camera after and she/John (the owner of the shop) understand that there is a lot more work to be done with the Audi, i.e disassembling the interior and pulling out the carpets. Our goal and what they were looking for, was for us to at least get the exterior looking good again, and cleaning the interior with the time allotted to us so it would be easier to continue working on. Obviously no one knew there would be mice nests in the car as it has been sitting since 2004 and was not checked for anything until we detailed it. As for the baby mouse, we did not kill it. We set it outside, under a tree in shade, near the building in hopes the mother would find it. Hope you guys enjoyed the video for what it is at least!

Guys, great job but with any mouse situation you really need to strip the interior completely, those damn mice get everywhere and cause serious damage to the car, the health risk is too high by leaving the interior in place

I suspect either the seller's claim they never drove it was a lie or this woman's Mom sold the filthiest car ever.

Two things about the rodent infestation:
1) What about underneath the dash behind the instrument cluster ? Would there be more nests there ?
2) Got a mouse ? Get a cat !

Sorry for taking up so much comment space but even the interior cleaning brought back memories of crawling through the car. Even cleaning those silly tiny interior door latches. And yes I cried right along with her. You did an outstanding job.

Re: the wee mouse. There are really only two choices - the one you chose (the little guy wouldn't live long) or euthanasia (unpleasant for you but more merciful if done quickly.) Either way, kinda miserable for all concerned.

When you have rodents in the car for years urinating everywhere, how do you not pull the carpets? That's disgusting.

I wish I had my first car back! It was a 1984 Plymouth Turismo 2.2, black with charcoal interior. I had the old school louvers over the back window. It was nothing special, but I loved it and I washed and detailed that thing a lot!

As an FYI: Next time you run into a baby mouse and nest situation, put the nest and mouse in a box and, as you did, leave it in the wild under a tree...:)

This solution for the mice might seem strange, but I would try to rebuild the nest and leave it somewhere dry so the mother could find it.

I bought a 2001 Cobra and it arrived with rats. This video gave me some very bad memories but loved the outcome!

For the future, mice typically like to hole up in the dashboard, air intake boxes, sometimes exhaust if it never runs, and most commonly, the space under the side skirts. So you got two of them, but where there are 2, there are typically 6-8 more nearby.

For the baby mouse, unfortunately, it likely didn't survive being left in the grass. If this situation every happens again, check facebook for local wild animal rescues. They are everywhere and I've found that they will often come to you to get babies like this and give them a chance at survival.

Love the outcome of this detail!
