I was an idiot and used the backside of a sponge on my miata. Its a sad day. I see you mention perpendicular, but what if its all little circles/swirls can I try that? I was attempting to get off bird poop residue and oh man its gotten out of hand!
ОтветитьI did this with some scratches on my truck, and they are gone. Great video and technique.
ОтветитьTried this technique today and it worked perfectly. Took a few hours to get rid of a long scratch on the roof of my V70R, but after the polish and wax the scratch is no longer visible. Saved me hundreds of dollars. THANK YOU!!
ОтветитьYou're doing this almost the same way we do at work.
The biggest difference is, we don't use 5000 grit sandpaper.
By the time your finished with 3000 grit, you can switch over to Turtle wax " Rubbing compound."
Be sure to get rubbing compound!
Turtle wax makes a polishing compound and a rubbing compound.
The polishing compound will be used, but you'll have to cut down on some of that haze with the rubbing compound first.
The difference is, the rubbing compound has a finer grit than the 5000 grit, but still capable of doing the job, without digging deeper into the clear coat and increases the chance you won't ruin your paint job.
Does anybody know if the scratches ever comeback like when the wax comes off?
ОтветитьFirst honest video i see on this topic
ОтветитьDo I need to wax?
ОтветитьThank you man!!
Ответить99% of people doing this messed it up 😂
ОтветитьIs it possible to fill the scratches with clear coat before, and sand it? So i don't have to remove to much coat?!
ОтветитьAwesome video. This and your deep scratch have been life savers. Quick question: how do you do this with a matte paint job? The cloud seems harder to remove
Ответитьwanting to this and didn’t see anyone ask the question. Does the paint color matter? Mine is white and don’t want to regret trying
ОтветитьHi, if I fix my car like this, and I take it to the car wash. Will it wash out the polish or not? Many thanks!
ОтветитьAwesome videos, thanks for the clear instructions
ОтветитьBut once washed everything will show
ОтветитьFixing scratches on a PT Cruiser. Literally polishing a turd 😂
ОтветитьVideo inspired me to address a bad scratch on my car. But I just used rubbing compound on mine, no sandpaper.
ОтветитьI just came from repair shop
" panel tape... clips.... etc.. .etc....one time use after removing door".
They've had the car for 2wk and a day for 3 deep but minor scratches like the ones you just fixed..
How i wished i would have ran into your video sooner and had the confidence to do myself.
Why can't you just use compound?
ОтветитьI cannot get the haze/swirls to go away after removing the scratch and it’s driving me up the wall. Never get a red car…Mazda Soul Red at that 😩
ОтветитьWould you suggest doing this on a brand new car ?
ОтветитьSoapy wooder?
ОтветитьDoes this work for plastic surfaces?
ОтветитьHow does it look a year later
ОтветитьYou are the BEST
ОтветитьHi Chris, my car was repainted in multiple panels recently but i've realised they didn't include a clear coat. That's probably why it now marks so easily! My question is - if a panel does NOT have clear coat, should I still do this method? as surely the 'sanding part' is taking off the actual paint, and not the protective 'clear coat'. I'm wondering what my best options are. Thank you! Martin
ОтветитьWhat happens to the polish and wax when it rains? Will it come off?
ОтветитьHahahaha he scratches it ...eeeeeh 😊
Clever, funny, articulate, organized... and doesnt even show his face. Lol. If only more people made videos lile this, instead of showing their noses closeup while pontificating about purple pachyderms.
What did i start out saying...
Oh yeah subbed. 😊
Hey what if your cut still shows after you wipe it down like you did in this video but it is not as deep as you showed in the other video? What do you recommend to do? It has light scratches on the car but when I wipe it down it still shows the scratch. Thanks!!
ОтветитьIm not sure how wax works. Does it just mask the scratches and buffering or does it actually fix them?
Does the polished wear off and the scratches and buffering are visable again?
I am a car guy, and I proudly watched you scratch that car. (It’s a pt cruiser)
Ответитьcould this be done on plastic as well?
ОтветитьA Chris very detail job very good instruction video. I might actually even attempt to do this myself. Thanks for the great video.
ОтветитьGreat video this worked perfectly
ОтветитьYou must have done some magic shit in between edits because I just did this on my clear coat scratches and they went absolutely no where. AND my scratches are significantly lighter than yours.
You pay these people to comment on your videos ? 🤦🏻♂️
Quite as can be.
ОтветитьVery good Chris San!
Ответить❤thank god I found this, some ahole just keyed my new/used car because apparently ppl in cities can keep their gd hands to themselves and I am so thankful I now have the know how to fix it❤🎉
ОтветитьMOM HE’S SCRATCHING THE CAR AGAIN!
ОтветитьThank you cris for this share...
ОтветитьWorked like a charm! Thanks!
ОтветитьHelpful video but "a couple of bucks" is more like 100 bucks with your links :(
ОтветитьWill this work for a black car?
ОтветитьSandpaper on car paint is scary stuff lol awesome video though.
Ответитьyou are beyond amazing!!!
Love your voice as well!
Can i substitute "Ultimate Paste Wax" with "Ultimate Polish"? I already have the Ultimate Polish bottle at home.
ОтветитьUm…where’s the link to this “Touch Up”? I only found scam sites…
Ответитьyou sanded off the clear coat and you don't put any back??? why???
ОтветитьWhat about the part of the hood?
Ответить
