Anatomy of a romance scam

It's difficult to have sympathy for any of these Women..who right in the Head would send Thousands overseas to a complete stranger ?. Some Women actually do this...

I just got rid of two scammers Raymond Scott (doctor in Syria) wanted me to send personal information to his lawyer in order to terminate his contract !! Second was Christopher Todd Donahue ( peacekeeping in Syria) wanted 1750 in gift cards to terminate his contract too!! I blocked and reported them both !!

The sad / pathetic part of all this is the fact that even if the victim finally cuts off from the scammer, their info is usually passed around and possibly the same scammer could contact the victim under a new profile. Many times if you ask the victims, they had this happen before and "didn't learn their lesson". Basically they are more probable to have it happen to them again once this has happened before. It's easier to fish from a previous victim then try to fish for someone brand new. So it's really hard to get through to the victims.

I don't believe most of these stories are true.

Rule number one: don't send anyone online money. They're not interested in you. They're only interested in your money. It's all an act. They pull on your heartstrings.

Men also fall for scams . There number is small and they wisen up! Nothing against women but money they have are mostly inheritance , insurance money they got and house they inherited ! Women who struggled whole life, worked low paying job and saved rarely part with money!

Should these dating sites not be shut down as I think these romance scammers are behind the running of these sites.

Why does it seem like all of these guys are either deployed to Afghanistan or working on oil rigs? Do they worl from the same script? They all also claim to be big, successful businessmen, but can't afford basic equipment and tools.

I was victimized by an in person romance scam by a Dominican he took me for over $200000 I feel foolish and embarrassed and my heart is broken.

Omg! I am definitely talking to a romance scammer right now. I feel so dumb! I found him on a dating sight and didn’t really suspect anything because I found him first. I questioned him on his identity once and he immediately sent me a photo with him holding up his Ohio DL. Since he was also in the photo I thought it was real. He asked me for mine and I stupidly shared my info. So now he has my info. And the name of my bank through another “innocent” conversation. What I don’t understand is how he manages to send me photos of him in front of his house that matches the address on his DL. He also had me purchase a $200 Sephora card to send to his kid at boarding school…and I did it. 🙄 But last night he informed me that in order for his son to “exchange “ the card he needs my ssn. That was the last straw…I decided to buy a little time and told him my ssn card is in a fireproof safe at my moms house and I will get it for him. I will go back to Sephora and use my gift card if I’m unable to get my money back. I’m just very concerned that he has all of my information.

It's so sad that these women are falling prey to fantasies! if they could really see the real people behind the images, they would clutch their purses and behave like a Karen calling the police on them if they came within 2 ft of their personal space!!

I haven't being scammed before but lied to by hundreds of woman over the phone, text, or in person, The moment women hears l don't have money or live a simple life they stop texting, calling or lied. Maybe 2% of women this days I think don't care about money but k have no doubt that most women this days do t care about true love or don't use the word love if he doesn't have any money....l have 24 years to prove bc I'm still alone and using the same tactics on saying I'm broke....so far every woman for the pass 21 year move one when they hear me saying I'm broke... I do that to see if they truly want to be with me bc me or bc what k have. Sadly it's all about the money. Si keep getting scammed.....

I knew a girl who got scammed from someone claiming to be someone he wasn't. Some people are so desperate to be loved, they make easy targets, it's sad and dispicable what these scammers do to those people.
