Let me first say: a big welcome to the Tiger Spreadsheet Solutions YouTube channel from me, Chris, the founder and creator of this content.

I’ve delivered hundreds of Excel VBA solutions for clients across sectors over the past 10 years. What I’ve noticed is that the same patterns seem to repeat again and again; customers experience the same real-world problems and, to some extent, the same solutions seem to fit. This gave me the idea: rather than just teaching MORE Excel VBA, could I identify a few of these repeated structures, and tailor an Excel VBA course around those? Moreover, could I do it live to maximise interaction and learning opportunity?

To do so would deliver disproportionate value to anybody trying to get Excel VBA to work for them in real life. This was the big idea behind the Excel VBA For Beginners: 30 Real World Problems and Solutions series. In 30 30 minute live sessions over the course of 30 days I will share what I have found to be the most practical Excel / Excel VBA structures in my career. These structures occur time and again on my Excel VBA projects. The focus will not fall solely on the code, however; we will try to approach the technical content from a practical perspective: what is the specific real-world problem that this Excel technique or piece of Excel VBA code helps us solve? To do so will allow you to link the technical content to the real-world practice and enhance the impact of your Excel VBA. As fans of the channel know, this really is the critical skill!

What is happening in this livestream? To tell the truth, I don't know ... yet! That's because we will randomly select one of 30 real world problems at the beginning of the stream, using a Random Problem Selector (an Excel-based tool, naturally!) This should keep me on my toes and add some additional excitement. It also means you'll be able to work along with Chris from a blank file at the beginning of each session.
